Whenever I have a Facebook ad campaign that isn't performing well, I take a look at 3 Facebook ad metrics.
Depending on what I see in those 3 Facebook advertising metrics, I can determine why my Facebook ads are failing and what to do about it.
In this video I show you what these Facebook ad metrics are and how you can analyze them.
I also explain what adjustments you can make to Facebook ads based on that analysis to help fix the issues you've got and improve performance.

Quick question: If we are running an e-commerce business and we have more than one product category, should we create multiple campaigns to test each product category (eg. One campaign for t-shirt and another campaign for hoodies) or put them all into one campaign? Is it recommended to test one campaign per product category if we want to test multiple different products or multiple different product categories? Thank you so much

In the video @ 15:01 , you have told that for e commerce, the average of link clicks generated to purchases should be around 2-5% range, so what should be the ideal time frame that i should consider to work out the percentages? shall i consider 15 days, 1 month or life time data for the same? Summary: CPM is maybe a targeting issue depending on many things Low Cost per Click tells that the ad is doing its job but if the cost per purchase is high, then it is a landing page issue. The ratio of link clicks and landing page views should not be huge. Keep an eye on the speed of your website High Cost per link click is the offer or ad creative issue. Remember: CTR all and CTR link clicks is very different. Same with CPC link click and CPC all

Maybe not really ralated but for the conversions objective is it absolutely needed to have any type of form on the website or will the fact that someone actually went on the website be counted as an action automatically (it's a service and there's only contact info on the website so im strugling with choosing the right objective)

If there's no action for people to take on your website and you are just optimizing for landing age views there won't really be a difference between conversions and traffic. I'd recommend adding a contact form and using conversions.

Hey Ben, great video! For my campaign, I have diagnosed a high CPC issue. And thus, the plan now is to edit the ad creative/offer. However, should I pause the previous ads and make new ones, or edit the old ad and make these changes instead? What would you suggest?

Have you ran Solar ads before? My Cpc is way to high like $6 with a CPM of almost $40-50. Any advice? Im trying to get them to take a quiz

What's an appropriate % to have of abandoned arts, and of initiated checkout but did not complete their purchase? I'm also noticing that the data in Facebook ads isn't matching up with Shopify. For example, Facebook says I had 6 abandoned carts yesterday on my ads, but Shopify says I had 1. Could it be that Shopify is only counting people that have inputted their information, whereas Facebook tracks if someone just clicks to check out?

Hi Ben! Thank you so much for this helpful video. I’m learning a lot. Just a question, what is the right timeframe to evaluate or assess these metrics? Do you look at lifetime, last few days, or on a daily basis?

Hi Tracy, you are very welcome. I will typically look at a range of different timeframes. So 7 days, 30 days and lifetime. I'm usually looking for a consistent picture before I draw conclusions (unless checking for ad fatigue)

What does it indicate if CPM is excessively high from the get-go? Some people have said it's because of creative not resonating with the audience. But that can't be the reason if CPM is high from the very start, when audience response is untested, right?

Ben. Just an off topic question. For your omnipresence content strategy, my adsets arent' spending the full amount. is it because I have too little data for my pixel? Does it only work for pixels with large data?

Hi Nelson, that will be because your audience isn't big enough. As that grows, your campaign will spend more.

Hey Ben, do you know if there is a list of the average CPM costs per country and industry? I am advertising fro a client in the USA, the client is selling costumized cosmetic product. We have currently CPM costs between $20-25 USD. Is this to high? Or normal in the USA?

Hi Max, I don't know of such a list but that CPM cost in the US sounds pretty reasonable to me. We've certainly seen higher.

Thanks a lot. Some audiences are much more expensive to reach than others because they are more valuable to advertisers. High net-worth individuals or business owners would be a great example.

Hey Ben! I have a question - I just started some new Facebook ads for the first time since August and right now it's showing "Learning" under "Delivery." Have you ever seen this before and do you know what it's really about? I'm wondering how long it will last before the ad actually starts running!

Yes that happens often and it is dependent on conversion volume. When you generate enough conversions, it will disappear :)

I am making events on Facebook. For some reason, it says promote unavailable. I can’t even promote or boost my own ads for some reason?!?! Everytime I press promote add/boost ad button it says: something went wrong, try again later. Never had this problem before, WHATS wrong? Can’t reach my audience at all. My older events does show up on the Facebook business suite app, not the ones I’m creating now?!?! HELP please!

You could add offline conversion data, which may help. But I don't have a tutorial on that I'm afraid.

Yes that's most likely what it means - it could also be because your ad creative isn't resonating with your audience.

What's the differences between CPC (Cost per click on the link) and CPC (All)?

CPC all includes all the other clicks you have on your ad - like clicks to check out your page or clicks to see more.
