You said to not have more than 4 ads in each ad set, but when you duplicate a good performing ad to test a different copy for example, you have more than 4 ads in each ad set. Maybe it is better to have testing campaign for each ad format. What do you think?

No I wouldn't have a testing campaign. Instead you want to pause underperforming ads so you never have more than 4 or 5 live at any one time. You can certainly have more than 4 in there - just not live simulatneously.

Ben Heath thanks for great video. I watched all video but I have different question. Ok we know which format is better. Lets say it is Image ads. But hwo should we create ad creatives for different places. For example a story image and a facebook feed image and a instagram feed image are all different. For different places should we create diferent ads with different image sizes in it. Or is there a simple way such as usign dynamic ad creatives? Which one do you suggest?
@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын
Thanks :) You don't have to customize ad creative placement - square will do pretty well across placements. But it can be a bit beneficial to do so. You can use different creative at the ad level.
@mania79274 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben, i think the strategy you are talking about here is After when you already have found the right audiences, Because otherwise it will be too costly to follow up this strategy right? Because i think then you need to make 4 different ad format (video, carousel, image, slide show) for first targeting in 4 separated ad-set , and then doing the same with the second audience. Imaging this is at the testing stage and you still need to find your right audiences, if you want to test 2 audiences and following up this strategy, then you have to make already 8 ad-sets just to test 2 audiences and going over that first test. if you want to test 3 audiences and see from which one you get more conversions, then you have to make 12 ad-set just for 3 audiences. each audiences a min budget of 10 dollars, it will be very soon 120 dollars per day just to test 3 audiences. Please correct me if i am wrong but this is what i have understood from your strategy as far. Thanks for brainstorming and valuable info. i always watch your videos.

Hey Ben, thank you so much for another amazing video, you're amazing!! I've watched most of your videos and you've mentioned a couple of topics I have some questions about but couldn't find any in-depth videos on. I'm hoping you can help me out: 1. When we’ve figured out which audiences work, should we keep them as separate ad sets in a CBO or mash them into one big audience group? For example, we ran a CBO with the following interest-based ad sets: the New York Times, Premier League, and Ferrari. They all performed well. Do we keep them separate in the CBO or do we group them into one big audience? 2. Should you split test ages in small intervals (i.e. split testing 13 to 21 year-olds against 21 to 30 year-olds) or does this make the audiences too small (and as such more expensive) / does Facebook do this anyway? If we should test it, do we put all the age intervals that work into the same ad set or keep them separate? 3. About gender and ad scheduling. Are these factors worth testing or does Facebook optimize it well by itself? (Should we target different genders individually to see which performs best or does Facebook already do that well)? Thank you in any case for your great content, it's always super clear and valuable. Cheers!
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Thomas. 1) Keep them as separate ad sets 2) I wouldn't - it usually makes the audiences too small and yes Facebook will do that for you. 3) This is not something I do. I would go with one gender or the other if your target audience is heavily swayed that way otherwise I would let Facebook do its thing :)
@thomasschopf86784 жыл бұрын
@@BenHeath Thanks man, you're a lifesaver! Just to clarify about points 1 and 2. Wouldn't (as in point 1) the interest groups be just as small as the age groups in point 2? If you take everyone interested in Ferraris in Denmark, that's 200k to 250k people. Mothers, ages 30 to 35, also number 200k to 250k. Why do you recommend keeping the former separate but not the latter? Also, does your answer to point two change in general if you make larger intervals (to keep the audiences large)? For example, instead of testing in intervals of five years, to just test 3 different age groups (18 to 29, 30 to 45, and 46+)? Thanks again for all your help!

@outletsofadirect20082 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben! Thanks for this great video. Questions: Don't you think that instead it might be better to have different campaigns (same setup with included and excluded audiences) for each ad so that FB conversion algorithm can learn to convert faster for each type of ad (video, image, product carrousel, and so on) at a lower cost ? Don't you think that it would give a real chance for every ad to show what is capable of without having FB conversion algorithm prioritizing too fast which ad works better? Also, I have the impression that when you have too many ads on 1 campaign, it cost more time for the campaign to get out of learning phase... And when it gets out, it might not have enough data to deliver each type of ad that it would have if it was focused on only one type of ad and placement. You could add more budget to the campaign to give more data for each type of ad, but in my experience bigger the budget higher the CPA... Not always true, but it's generally the case in my experience. PLEASE let me know what you think. Really interested to have your opinion on this! Keep up the good work :)
@aruwer2 жыл бұрын
I think the issue with what you are talking about is that if you create different audiences you aren't really testing one type of variable change (Format in this case) on the same audience. Of course creating different campaigns with different audiences, ad formats and placement will lead to different results. But then you aren't simply testing the ad format which Ben is talking about but instead testing everything at once. Trying to piece together what works best is harder in those cases since you are testing a bunch of different factors and not only one at a time. Instead, focusing on format first, then audience, then placement like ben explains will most likely lead to a more comprehensive end result. Your method isn't wrong and it is faster but also it isn't as thorough since you are changing multiple variables instead of just 1. For short term campaigns your method will lead to better results faster but in the long term Bens method will outperform yours simply due to a higher level of individual variable testing.

@BenHeath3 жыл бұрын

When I press create a lookalike audience under "audiences", click on the pixel, and select purchase as the event type, Facebook tells me how many orders I received in total (around 600) over the past 60 days. Hey Ben, Darren from Cyprus again :) Thanks for the info... Every time and I mean every time I pause a poor performing ad my whole campaign just stops and sometimes takes 3-4 days before another sale comes through on the good ads. I don't know why and don't know what to tell my client. Is this normal or is something wrong?
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Hi Darren, we do see that happen sometimes but not usually that frequently. I would make sure you have a range of high performing ads in an ad set before pausing the under-performers in that case.

Ben Heath Thanks Ben, that seems like a better idea. I think I’ll start leaving them much longer to find an out and out winner before pausing. Will keep at it :) thanks

You can if you want. I prefer not to but that is personal preference.

Why would you advise against it? Thanks.

I’ve seen so many people say you only need to spend £5 a day to see results. Do you agree with that? My ad only seems to reach about 100 people a day with one click maybe. Just seems insane
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
No I don't agree with that. Even if you generate a 10x return on ad spend, which is very good, that's only £50 in revenue - not much to get excited about.

@@BenHeath Is there a Goalx return on ad spend with an e-commerce store? Is there and industry standard goal? I've seen 15x return on $100 ad spend. Not every time, but that's why I'm here, to learn! Thanks!

Hi Ben, Great video, thanks! Do you notice a slow down in performance of the respective ad set, each time you introduce a new ad?
@BenHeath4 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, not always. It really depends on how the new ads perform. Sometimes we'll see a big improvement.

Your laptop has really low resolution that Android viewers enjoy your videos. Is that intentionally? 😂
