If you're not getting customers/clients, don't be lazy or scared, use google search look up businesses in the industry you want clients in and start cold calling to set appointments to talk further about what you offer. Shoot for 40 cold calls minimum per day, and 3-5 appointments, no excuses!

Two points to consider before opting into these strategies. 1. CPA tend to increase compared to remarketing campaigns because you are now targeting cold audiences. 2. Ideally still we should exclude previous customers who completed a conversion because, that's the audience Meta would try to reach frequently. It does not have to be 180 days. Think of the product usage lifecycle and and create an audience of previous customers. If you want to cross-sell or up-sell [sell something for existing customers] use a catalogue campaign.

If you're retargetting a large audience you better put on a cost cap or you will blow through budget. Efficiency matters.

The only issue with cost caps is they can take away more qualified quality customers. I understand where you're coming from but it's about testing and not as simple as your making it out to be. Not every campaign performs better with a cost cap I know from experience.

@@BlakeDrivesIndiana yes, thats why I recommend segment your warm and cold audiences with appropriate caps. High caps on cold audiences to drive volume and low caps on warm traffic to drive profit. It’s the only way to truly scale at efficiency with predicable results. I like consistent results - unfortunately you wont get that if you don’t use caps on higher spend. Your results will always vary and it’s financially risky. The only time I use max conv. bidding is for warming up the pixel or if I have a warm small audience.

Great video, thanks!! One thing that confuses the hell out of me - do you apply the same retargeting audiences as exclusions to your cold campaign? If so, doesn't your argument for not adding exclusions apply to the entire concept of whether to have a separate retargeting campaign? If Facebook already optimizes ad impressions based on # of times they've been to site, why not just run the cold campaign and allow it to retarget as it needs to? Isn't it a big assumption to think that the retargeting campaign is going to pick up on the lead exactly where the cold campaign left off? In other words, the cold campaign is working hard to get new leads, but the moment it gets a click it loses that lead, and we expect the retargeting campaign to follow up on it. But how can we be sure that it really does? Doesn't that click go from a hot new lead to just a tiny fish in the large pond that is your retargeting audience?

Related question - You recommended creating different campaigns for different product ranges, but since website visitors and facebook page engagers are the same (mostly we can't differentiate which product they're interested in), wouldn't the warm ad set be essentially the same in all campaigns? That "feels" wrong, but would love to understand why this is ok.

I work with Shopify stores quite often and these stores have subscriptions through recharge and bold. How can I track those separately from just a purchase inside Facebook? I don't necessarily need to break it apart from being a purchase, I would just like to be able to label those, so we can see we had 200 purchases and x amount of those were subscriptions. Yes! I have this question too. Which way does it work if you're broad targeting? Is it a) The AI is optimizing the target at the ad set level and then choosing the best ad from that ad set to show the targeted person (here I think we would have different male/female ad sets esp. if products are MOSTLY for women, but there are some for men) or b) The AI is optimizing the target at the ad level (so the target could be completely different for each ad and we just have one ad set).
