After experiencing pain in my left Femur since June 2021, back in November it got so bad I could no longer sleep at night and could barely walk in the mornings…. I finally went to the doctor and they said my imaging is consistent with “ Giant Osteoid Osteoma “ it’s an osteoid osteoma that’s 6 inches on the surface of my femur, the pain is un describable. I literally want to scream, 5 minutes after taking Ibuprofen or Naproxen, the pain disappears 100%. Awaiting surgery to get it removed, I cannot wait to be pain free without taking pills!!!!

Same here But my tumor is aneurysml bone cyst and it’s 10cm which is biggg. I can’t wait to get it out if you don’t mind tell what happened with you ?
@JonPicoCokeJones28 күн бұрын
@ I’m sorry to hear that, hope your recovery from this goes well! I had my surgery in July, I couldn’t walk for 2 days then after a couple weeks I was 100% again. Since then I have no symptoms and live my life normally as before I had it. They had to put me to sleep for the surgery, when I woke up the pain was excruciating. They gave me opioids upon waking up. Didn’t need any pain medication for the following days just the initial day.

Very nice video. By the way, the word cancer refers to malignant tumors. Since we don't know the nature of the tumors (benign or malignant) you can just call them tumors.

Hello , my question is . My husband had metastasis spread from his kidney cancer which then spread to some bones. The bone right now that is causing a problem is his right leg at his distal femur. He was given a high dose of radiation to the tumor. He has to walk with crutches and cant put all his weight on his leg. We went to see a orthopedic surgeon and she said that he didnt need any surgery (knee replacement) . She said compared to other xrays a few months prior shows the tumor wasnt there anymore and that its filling in nicely. She told my husband it's going to take time for the bone to get back . What does she mean by filling in nicely and how long does a bone need to repair from a tumor ? My husband cant walk without crutches and has bad pain in the knee on some days and then no pain on other days. We just dont understand how there can be pain and then no pain. We just dont know when he would be able to walk without crutches.

The video is excellent but a benign bone tumor is not considered “cancer” only the ones that are malignant although some benign bone tumors have the ability to transform into malignant tumors

Can adults over 40 have benign tumors? I know that you said that it is more in common with children because my mother is 61 and they found a lytic lesion in her left pelvis. I was told that the tumor is small and I also seen a picture of her tumor and it looks like a small hole.

Hey thanks for the video! However I looked at other sources and they said osteoblastoma does have a sclerotic rim. Is it just not as large of a rim as osteoid osteoma?
@MedicalMania4 жыл бұрын
That’s my understanding as well. I think the huge size discrepancy between the 2 due to prostaglandin discrepancies between the 2 make it a good marker for generalized differences. Thanks for bringing it up!
