I bought a Lane Regulator to put into my Benjamin Cayden, but I never installed it because I can get 60 shots (18.13 grain @ 880 fps .22) with extreme spread of just 19 fps over the entire 60 shots - that is as good and better than some regulated guns..

My install took forever. This was not the fault of Huma, I love the product, great result. Both ends of my air tube appeared to have loctite applied to them. Like you I chucked the valve house in a vise and had to apply mild heat while using a 1/2" ratchet on the fill end. The fill end refused to come out until I used an impact wrench with 2 people holding it with strap wrenches. Modified and assembled and it leaked. Pulled the Huma back out and looked in the tube. Tube must be made by extrusion and it had a scar running the full length inside the tube. I spent weeks polishing with jeweler polish to no avail, still leaks. Finally hit on the fix, went to the auto supply and bought a brake cylinder hone, lubed it with silicone o ring lube, attach drill and presto! (still took a bit of work).I highly recommend the Huma modification and hope if anyone else encounters the same problem this will help make your conversion easier!

Geeze, I feel the same with loctite on both ends. And that's not threaded (anti vibration) loctite one or it would have gone already. Heating is a big question for me as it might impact the metal pressure containement somehow. Definitely wondering if I'm going to customise it with the regulator or if i'm going to find some more trouble. Especially as I'm lurking for another airgun easier to customise with a regulator. I may proceed to the customisation only when I'll feel safe even failing it and damaging the gun. Purchasing spare part for Benjamin pcps is a pain the ass that made me fly away from other models. Until then I guess refilling often might be the best alternative. A big big thanks for your comment. ❤ (I found cut/damaged o-rings inside the gun, seriously not at all a proof of decent quality)

do you remember what was colour the glue on the thread ? Asking because of one of the best video I found about it kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaGkZaeLd7ieo7s or kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGrdd5p4bdGHhK8

I managed to open it using propane heatgun to loosen the end thread. It didn't had loctite. Tube is perfectly fine and round in the inside. No leak outside once the tinkering is done and regulator installed. I'm relieved not having to use a hone like you did. But I can't have regulated pressure on the pcp gauge/after the regulator. I have the same pressure as the pressure tube. I checked inside the regulator is something seems damaged, didn't spot a thing (except huma air maintenance documentation is outdated, mentionning M3 thread instead of M5, also mentionning a cap on set screw that wasn't there). O ring seem to be fine so I didn't change them already. Still wondering why the regulator is somehow bypassed/ineffective.

Last update : Regulator leak solved after speaking with huma (very reactive). Changed one o-ring on the regulator. Huma sent another maintenance package. The pressure monitored on the gun gauge is not the same as scaled on huma regulator, had to try 2 other times and finally have the pressure I'm aiming for. Working perfect. Tried it recently with riffle heavy slugs 4,5mm/0.177 and it works wonders. Definitely more curvy shot but impressive results.

Is it necessary to remove the fill end? Is it to prevent creating a vacuum when inserting the reg?

Where did you get the end support piece for your scope pic rail. Looks like it would really keep the scope from flexing on there. I have one of these in .177 I am going to set up for field target. Keith

Also do you still have to,use the power knob to control high n low pressure ,,,,or since you have done this set the knob to high setting to get the full benefit from the reg
@5stargunsandgear Жыл бұрын
You can still use the dial and that will further tune your gun
@AtlantisArch6 ай бұрын
(edited bellow) The knob just slows down the air coming out of the valve. If the regulator works fine, the amount of air is quite the same each time. The knob is thus useless. Having it opened at max and tuning the regularor to ensure having the perfect velocity in the end of barrel without wasting to much air is the best, especially for slugs that require initial huge air flow. -edit- : knob seem to work after regulator installed, just dry firing makes noticeable different air waves. my mistake.

Thank you it was really cool Huma worked with me on this project. They were so happy they are talking to me about future projects. If so that will be sper cool. By the way love your content. Just got in my Impact in .30 once I play around a while I may be contacting you to order some slugs. Looks like you have it about dialed in.

Another ? ,,,at the end when your testing the trigger again after assembly ,,,your hammer spring is very quiet ,,,,on my,gun it's very loud ,,,,can the hammer spring be to tight ,,,,how is there an adjustment for that

Yes you can set reg to desired bar however yes until your main tank falls below set reg pressure

Ok merci . Bon weekend .
@AtlantisArch6 ай бұрын
