Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17: My Paint Color Review

I love white dove! I put it throughout my home on the ceilings, walls, and trim, but used a different sheen for all three. Looks great!

What finish did you do for the walls and ceiling?

@shadowthestandardpoodle5536 I used flat for the ceiling, and an eggshell/satin for the walls. The trim was done in a gloss.

@@ajt9745 thanks. I decided to do flat on ceiling, eggshell on walls, and semi gloss on trim, all white dove and am loving how it looks so far. Glad I decided to stick with white dove on everything instead of doing trim a different color.

Would BM Simply White on the ceiling and BM White Dove on the walls look good?

Help! Is it just bc we’re sampling in new house construction that white dove would show a little pink on the walls next to other samples (alabaster, simply white)? Our light stained wood floors will have little pink to them so I’m being cautious . they aren’t in yet to affect these sample of it on our walls . Do I need to worry about it actually looking pinkish once all walls/doors/trim/ceiling are painted with it ?

If I did white dove on the ceilings, walls, and trim&doors, would eggshell on the walls, semi gloss on the trim & doors, and flat on the ceiling look good? I’ve heard that I should also do eggshell on the ceiling but unsure of that?

Hi Kylie, first I’d like to say that your explanation of color is so understandable! Thank you for being so specific and making it so clear to get. My question is what different finishes and type of paint do you recommend when using BM White dove on living room/dining room/entry/mudroom walls and the same for trim? Or a brighter white for trim? So what I mean is should I use flat or matte and then semi for the trim?

White dove: on walls ( eggshell sheen) trim ( velvet/ semi glossy)

So funny you did this vid! I'm painting my house this color. Going with SW natural tan for the shutters (possibly front banisters as well but not sure). What do you think about that combo?

Hi Kylie, just love your posts and videos. Thank you. I am painting my kitchen cabinets white dove. Bedrooms vary from revere pewter to classic gray. I am going to refresh all doors and baseboards. Seems pure white would be cleaner and more versatile for whole house, or would you stay with white dove to compliment kitchen cabinets? Thank you

Ooooo, Patti, while I love Pure White, if the cabinets are White Dove, i LEAN into keeping everythign else White Dove for consistency, you know?

HECK YES! I have Revere Pewter cabinets (darkened by 25%, which is a subtle shift) and White Dove walls/trims and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I chose to do my doors Revere Pewter as well, but white doors are FAR more timeless.

I thought you said Ballet white went well with White Dove in another video. I am thinking about painting my cabinets White Dove and then the rest of the house Ballet White with White Dove trim. Is that a “hard No” for you?

I have white dove cabinets in my kitchen and getting ready to paint the walls ballet white next week would you recommend that or is that a hard no and I don’t like “it doesn’t bother me “ either 😂😂 I will carry the ballet white into the whole house ..my ceiling in living room are 25 feet lots of natural light windows floor to ceiling facing east light. Either dove will be the trim. I hope and pray I making right choice 😅. I did 1000000 white and off white samples my walls look camo. Looking for last minute advice. Thank you

She said lower LRV on walls than your cabinets, but if you love it, go for it!! I Personally, I would test the paint on a wall right next to the cabinets and determine even if she said yes. So glad her channel is dedicated to education on paint! Anyway, Happy painting!!
