Loved it. They felt the pressure and allowed it to dictate what was happening at all times. There was no push back or even examples in which their product would be beneficial. The CRM salesmen could of at least asked you if you ran a company and go from there. Camera or no camera. You guys commenting know it wouldn't have been any different without the camera and mic. Thanks, learning a lot.

This is the thing - I remember watching tons of your content then seeing this video and thinking 'ahh that's a bit unfair' .. only now, after months of practicing your style do I realise the legitimacy of this. Its really simple. In life, if someone asks you a question, ask them one back. My mum, friends, boss, the police (haha) will now endure this.

Holding a microphone you are interviewing the person, easy to see why they'd let you ask the questions.

That's the purpose behind the demonstration. When circumstances dictate you should answer, you do.

My employer finally offered a sales training last week and we had to call prospects on speaker and give each other feedback. The trainer said that apparently, I ask too many questions (!) and not offer enough information about our company or talk about the prospect's business, to show I researched them behorehand. Eeeeeek, I wanted to tell that dinosaur to STFU ! :D Love you Benjamin!

We react a certain way under pressure regardless what kind of pressure. Trust me, I cracked a few times regardless of the situation and reacted the same way in each situation. It is called self-sabotage. As Les Brown says "it is not over until I win"

This doesnt work. You don't ask the interviewer questions in a media interview. So this isnt a fair test.

Its not meant to be fair. It reflects real life pressure. I'll wear a hidden camera next time, same results, guaranteed!

But that's exactly the point, they should ask questions!!! If this fokker comes with 3 cameras and 5 microphones I still be asking him the questions and try to get as much exposure for my brand as possible from his little interview wherever he comes from idc... Fire my friend, that's how you sell$$$

When I'm working on a trade show stand I always ask "so what brings you to the show today" or similar as an ice breaker, but I would definitely have been caught out by this one

I also find those who do NOT ask questions are far more selfish than those that do. Something to think about....

To be fair, the salesperson might think you were a journalist doing their job from a media outlet rather than a customer. Would be interested in a hidden camera video :-)

@@benjamindennehy didn't mean to be blunt. The interaction was great. It's just like you said. Having the mic made it more like an interview; but a hidden one, and a discreet camera, would be a great way to show the sales"person" in their natural habitat.

@@benjamindennehy I actually think that would have rendered an almost identical example of how things are done. I've been to some expos in the U.S. and there are very few good ones that exist. Normally they just stand there silently, and hoped I would engage them. Even then, I was the one asking questions.

To be fair, most salespeople are shit, hate their job, lack the courage to follow their passion and continue wasting their life in a shit job whilst also being passionless and shit at it. Hence, no questions as that would take effort, caring and a personality.
