Having studied Latin for years, I had the sports-like experience of yelling at my screen to no response while they were looking etymologies

45:50 you see this a lot in canada now. you can tell how much a particular suburb is going downhill by the amount of high-density housing projects added in the last few years. "the city" never really ends anymore.

I like James, but his trying to make the "woke right" a thing is fake and ghey.

I think the show would have better Feng Shui if you called it "The DerpEnd" I feel like the energy and calmversations and the overall energy would flow much clearer. You're welcome.

As this ep went on, became pretty much one of my fav from this channel. Thnx, rly good DeepEnd. 10:55 Sometimes I read-in, although wondering if I miscommunicated some things about self, in semi-opaque stylized, narrative form. (And awkward for Ben, my secular Gen X internet 'priest,' heh). Look, was I often "parentalized" growing up? Then without realizing, parented my ex, who still needed a father? Then tension brought up my own stuff, and almost melted my sketch-brain, gradually for 5-8 yrs post-breakup? And I've been treating Benjamin like my son for 1-2 years, trying to keep him from turning fashist? And I've been fathering the postfeminist movement same timeframe, tryna prevent communism? And the different roles held up pretty often, but also didn't entirely fit? And I get a little oversensitive about these, and related issues? No, definitely not. Not at all. It's fine, because none of that applies. Go ahead and ignore. Oh yeah, and does my parasocial girlfriend, who's almost done figuring me out, have a sometimes no-holds-barred temperament, and general appearance that remind me of an Italian woman, and it's tough to ever entirely get past genes? No, not at all. Sociological study complete.

Luke 12:49-56 currently reading Larry Siedentop's book "Inventing the individual : The Origin of Western Liberalism". Seems destruction of the family was a central theme of the Christian message that paved the way for the modern world.

An Ottoman is called a poof in the UK. And chopped liver meat balls in rich onion gravy are called ... I can't tell you what they are called, I might hear a knock on the door.

There's plenty of shenanigans going on in universities around so-called serious games, gamification, transformative learning, persuasive information systems and SDG propaganda. The EU funds video game projects, as do states. Such projects are currently mostly flopping, but injecting propaganda into established IPs with a proven track record of being engaging to, in particular, children or teens, is already happening plenty. Video games are already a propaganda tool. My country's public broadcasting company already gamifies content in their news feed in the form of quizzing the reader on facts. There are apps being developed to help you reach particular kinds of goals, which shifts the locus of control and trains you to respond to algorithms: the solution to your learned helplessness is an app someone developed. You can see aspects of gamification in social credit systems and the blurring of persuasion with coercion in plenty of digital services.
