A BBC North East and Cumbria project. 100 people. 100 years. What made 2012 an important year?
Each person featured in this film was born in a different year between 1912 and 2011. They were all asked one simple question: "why was 2012 important to you?" See 100 years of human life compressed into 7 minutes.
The film features well-known faces, including gold-medal winning Olympians Kat Copland and BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year, 2012, Josef Craig as well as singers Joe McElderry, Graeme Danby and Steeleye Span's Maddy Prior, alongside less well-known people from the North East and Cumbria.
The music was performed by the English Philharmonic Orchestra, produced by Andy Bell, and composed by Benjamin Till.
