Powerful stuff. These tools bring tricks done in the mixing studio into live situations on the pedalboard. I am currently designing my new pedalboard into a more permanent state and in the process started watching pedal order videos, revisiting my notebooks on my previous experiments comparing notes. Reverb is something that suddenly acquired a new meaning for me and this is how I discovered your channel. I am very impressed by the way. So ....I noticed that things I wanted to do to manipulate the reverb space, with multiple pedals to shape it, animate it, compress it, lift or lower it, pan it etc are integrated into functions of single reverb pedals that are recently emerging. The first reverb I noticed did that was the DREADBOX DARKNESS. And here you showed some other stunning examples. This is a big deal because as knowledge grows, the complete pedal order is getting bigger and bigger and more complicated. Pedals like EQ, compressors, delays, reverbs, pitch shifters, etc for those that know can't go in just one place.... and that is too many pedals. So they have to shrink and/or integrate a small pedalboard in themselves. Right? ........Cheers and Thanks!

Hey! I have a reverb recommendation for you. There's a max for live device called "particle reverb" by a developer named Kentaro. I think he's also ported it to vst. Said reverb is a somewhat simple granular reverb, and i have never managed to make a bad sound with it. I suggest you try it out (if you have time ofc), cause it's magical. thx for the video!

tldr don't take that video down, that company is childish to even ask that, love both of these reverb vids! In just about any other industry, mistakes are remedied with customer service. You can't erase what has happened, and wanting to, is childish and unprofessional, so that particular company that doesn't like a critical video can suck it up, grow a pair and play like a big boy company or continue with some psychotic negative eraser by spurning seriously talented youtubers with unrealistic requests, that has subsequently made someone wary of buying from them. We simply can't reward such behaviour(which means buy it used, the only consumer option when we the plebs disagree with corporate choices) dot sadface.

I almost can’t believe you mentioned the very conundrum that I myself am dealing with right now! I am starting a new KZbin channel and one of my first videos is about a product that I get some amazing results out of and that I also despise for taking a music legend and turning him into a gigantic edifice of grift! Do I please manufacturers of amps and pedals and keyboards 🎹 and not mention all of those pesky trifles called “things that suck about their products” or do I take a hard stand about the truth as I see it and gain viewer trust and admiration? That you would mention these antithetical dynamics in this video means a lot to me, Benn. Once again with unparalleled skill, aplomb and humility, you show us all some great products and in doing so you save us time and money, with time being the greater of the two. collector//emitter does pedal demos/reviews in a similar way to what you described at the end where he just shows the pedal and plays guitar into it. the eq of the trails seems important in mixes. i like to cut the highs off a bit and the lows usually (plug-ins). pedals, hm maybe an eq pedal after the reverb or compress after. dense mixes you won’t benefit exactly from some of the pad sounding reverbs/ gets lost but sometimes that is what works too.

As a game changer, I would be interested in seeing videos that are about getting creative with a certain device. When you do a presentation about the features, you always stay on a very superficial level. By this, I mean what you can really do with a device. Somebody I can’t remember his name made a video about, the Night Sky where he dug into some of the features and use them extremely creatively, and this sounded like a whole new world. These are musical instruments. It takes time to develop not a mastery, but just a sense of what they can do.

Such a shame the one out of a hundred kill the fun when there's 99 people who really enjoyed the video but never commented anything, but I guess that's just youtube. Something I'd love for you to make a video on is how you listen to reverb and what you listen for since you seem to have such an ear for reverb. I would love to hear you break down what to listen for and how you'd adjust a reverb to create a space, described for someone who tends to hear most reverbs as a mush and struggles to properly utilise it. I myself am a mixer who has spent a lot of time working on this and improving and your insight would probably be eye(ear)-opening 😊

YES! GIVE US SOUND DEMOS WITH NO VOICE! SHOW US SONIC POSSIBILITIES! In all honesty, videos of you playing with gear (and explaining what you are doing) would be very helpful to a lot of people. Gear demos are, overall, pretty bad, always gravitating towards the same patches, no one says what they are doing, or they keep talking over the sound about something completely unrelated. And that's different than just playing stuff while recording a video. I want to see what gear can do in a practical way, not theoretical one (reading the manual is not as fun as twisting knobs, and imagining sounds is not as good as hearing them). The best part about your "reviews" was the small demos you came up with to show as an example. Watching you fiddling with stuff in creative ways fulfills some sort of content that is lacking on KZbin's gearsphere. I mean, Red Means Recording used to do something like that and it was great, and it was a bummer when Jeremy moved on to do other stuff (although I'm happy he's being successful in it). I hope there are more people out there that thinks the same. Your little demo with the Soma Cosmos, for instance, was amazing. It would be very awesome to see whole videos like that.
