After not riding for 25 years and a previous HD Electric Glide owner I have decided to you into the Adventure Bike Category. Have now have test drove both the GSA and Rally V4. The Ducati is a better bike for me but not by much. The Rally seems to ride better and seems to handle lighter. The power of the Ducati is much more and much smoother at high speeds.

I had both and I donated my R1250 GSA to charity after the Rally arrived. The Rally is a better bike in its handling, has the adaptive cruise control, fully adjustable riding modes, and is very responsive. The GSA is fine but is more like the tank of ADV riding. I look forward to comparisons of the Rally to the R1300 GSA next year.

I would have thought that by now you guys would have sorted any issues with recording noise during riding. But obviously not.

Im old enough to remember when most roads where I lived were dirt or gravel. So, with all due respect, when did riding off-tarmac become riding off road?
@runarmagnusson Жыл бұрын
Exactly. It seems like most road in my home country (Iceland) were "offroad" when I was growing up. And I have done a lot of riding on street bikes and cruisers and such roads (And worse) .Always laugh a bit when I see people going "offroad" like that on their expensive, "offroad" capable adventure bikes. 😅

@@runarmagnusson haha when I was in Indonesia, every old lady was tearing it up "offroad" on gravel roads like these on 125cc scooters all day
@devdathn Жыл бұрын
Couldnt have put it better. Most "offroads" shown/ridden these days by most motorcyclists are better than our Indian city roads in the monsoon by a large degree...!!! :)

The off-road ability is wildly overstated on these things unless you're riding with a support vehicle. Back in the day, I got my built 1990 DR650 stuck in a boggy section of single track. Even at 175kgs or so, I couldn't get it out by myself, which I could typically do with proper enduros. A 10km walk back to the main road, and another couple to a house to call a friend to help me get it out. Finally got home at something like 5am. These are the two wheel equivalent of the Chelsea tractor.

@Rarekid im from south east asia and i can second your opinion. Those are hardly even a rough road, rural area in SEA is what you see in your western Enduro motorcross tracks 😂

Looks interesting, I’ve wondering how big the panniers are and can you fit a full face lid in both or either?
@mweingar Жыл бұрын
The non-exhaust side case fits a full face XL Shoei Neotec 2 just fine.

as a long time gs owner I’m booked for a test ride next week to see what the fuss is all about. Also keeping my options open in case the new 1300 gs is as ugly as they say it will be.

So magnetic tank bags again like the old sportbikes? 🙂
@leegreen67 Жыл бұрын
Aluminium, so no, not magnetic
@mweingar Жыл бұрын
no due to aluminum and I wouldn't even recommend it as the shape of the tank doesn't lend itself to a tank bag anyway. I tried. It sucked.
@curtissmith87894 ай бұрын
You probably have to get one with a filler cap adapter. That may be something that would work.

Durability and this brand do not go together I bought a new multi and it needed an engine rebuilt 14 months into ownership I’ll wait a few years and see how this bike plays out

That thing with the panniers is as wide as Fiat 500! Super expensive as a Motorcycle, even if it is a Ducati.
@mweingar Жыл бұрын
BS. It's just as wide as the GSA with bags. Or any other ADV with bags.

Starting at 24 thousand pds ,Ducati you have lost your mind.Way to expensive. I speak from 10 yrs of Ducati ownership of a Multistrada 1200 S A great pity one of their dealers is a complete moran..treats the bike owners with contempt I took my 1 year old 1260 Enduro to the main dealer in Slovenia to have its first service done.last June 2022 Turns out they let a 16 yrs old schoolboy on work experience work on my bike draining the oil etc . At some stage he damaged the treads on the oil sump,They refused to repair the damage until I agreed to pay for the damage they caused. I was furious they had a gun to my head I had to agree to pay ..Little option to get my bike back. The joke was no mechanic on site was capable of doing the repair. The bike was loaded into a van and taken 2 miles, to the Yamaha dealer to do the repair. I went with the bike. I was told on route ,all serious complex repairs are taken to the Yamaha dealer. That speaks volumes ref the quality of service mechanics they employ. The damage repair cost me 90 euros.Plus 4 hrs of extra time wasted. To date I never got an apology or offer of warranty on the repair from the Ducati dealer.They seem to think it's ok to damage my expensive bike I contacted Ducati head quarters in Italy to my shock ,and surprise they took no action ref the schoolboy damaging my bike. He should never have been allowed to touch the bike from minute one. I still paid full hourly rate for a stupid boy to do damage.to a very expensive 1 yrs old bike with under 3000 miles on the speedo. Had I the means I would sue their ass off through the courts. Fellow riders out there I would like to hear your opinion on this nightmare inflicted on me. J.A I
