Great review :). I'm absolutely loving this monitor and thinking of buying it. Quick question, what would the image quality be if I connected a PS4 to it (not pro version) which is capped at 1080. Will the upscaling distort the image? I'll likely be getting a ps5 soon, but hoping to know what it will be like in the meantime

Thanks, glad you liked it! As for your console, will be running at 1080p only - so the ppi won't be high on a 31.5" panel.

Thanks for including the motion blur test! Just wondering if it affects the monitor brightness? Since it is not specifically called DyAc like Benq's other XL series🤔

@@TotallydubbedHD Will do, I'm currently using the Benq xl2546 and need a 2nd monitor. There is a few reasons other than motion clarity i need it but DyAc has been the best thing for me since crt. All the way down to 100hz it works great.

Super late reply, but it does have backlight strobbing, and its super weird is that it actually gets BRIGHTER while you are using it. It is to my knowledge the only monitor like that, No idea why that is the case. You can still control the brightness while strobing, and you can use it while using Freesync.

@@adamochi854 I was a stupid to sell away the 27 inches benq zowie. Great experience.. but at some point when scrolling text it started to make funny "games" with the birgthness.. I hope this one doesn't do the same. USually this can be avoided by using a specific setting when not gaming, so that reading and scrolling doesn't become a Flashing \ dimming nightmare.. yes Dyac Was a great thing. I love that this new model has some stuff and doesn't force you to touch that menu pad that now so many use to mount on their monitors: it's so dirty to move that hand on the screen .. to choose between so many features that today so many screen have. Yes I want just a screen to play ... and I love true darks. I think VA is the right thing to get, however having so many "scare crows" over the reading scrolling part and also the dynamic smearing on darks is something I would really HATE to see happening. Maybe there are specific settings that avoid that to happen and that I can keep. Hate also to be juggling all day long with so many settings. a couple or 3 Preset (like on Uncle Benq Zowie) maybe will help.

I saw both your reviews of the EX2710r and this one... And was just wondering how much worse the input lag on the 2710r is (approx.)? This one seems really good but you seemed not impressed with that other one in terms of input lag, but you didn't mention the exact amount I believe - saw it twice :'). The EX2710r is down to 250 now in the UK as well. Soooo I am absolutely torn between these two if I decide on getting a curved from BenQ.

So I watched some of your videos and I was wondering what you think about the EX2710R for around 300€ (~310USD)? Just for reference I prefer curved over flat :) Or what other monitor would you say I should get for around that price? I had two IPS panel already and they both had massive backlight bleed so I was thinking of going for a VA panel.

I would say consider a few other alternatives, but if it's the cheapest too can find and it fits your criteria it's not a bad monitor - see my review I did on it and check the description :)

@@TotallydubbedHD i sent back g7, it wasn't working, too many issues, not switching on, no bios, no reset all, tons of disturb from the led to else. I am gonna hope benq wont disappoint me.. Benq zowiewas great. I dnt like yoo many settings but will manage to juggle with them if this monitor doesn t behave like anothrr Odyssey

Nice review, I have the same model as you, and I'm hoping you can help me with an issue I'm finding, the HDRI function will automatically turn on and off when for eg. if I was to watch a youtube video and put it in full screen then the HDR will switch to sRGB in some instances, and I have no way of just setting it to stay static because it will just change no matter what I choose. I do not want the HDR function at all because I find the sRGB to look better and I can choose the available presets such as RPG mode etc. is there any way to disable this HDR auto mode?

Thanks, glad you liked the review. But I don't have the monitor, it just came in for review and went back. As for the behaviour, that's odd, especially on KZbin of all places. In your Windows display settings, is HDR ON? If so, disable that and it shouldn't trigger. That's my only thought of how it can be disabled.

@@TotallydubbedHD That is the first thing I tried to do, it does not have that setting with the toggle to even try it, and when I go into the advanced display settings it shows it's in SDR mode. I don't understand why it just chooses different color modes for me without my input, it's very annoying!

(If you’ve had a chance to use it) I’m mainly just concerned about the ghosting and possible smearing at 120hz since it may perform different to the 165hz in the video. As long as it’s a good experience that’s enough for me since I’m coming from a 24 inch 1080p panel.

@@trviis i bought this it came yesterday, i was playing on a full hd old tv finally i upgraded its my first monitor. Its really good and very big which is perfect for me. Im playing on 1440p 120 on x and i use AMA3 with freesync and blur reduction both on. Feels amazing i dont know about ghosting and smearing because dont really feel anything on this settings, i like high settings and not think about these things.and according to other people that i watched theres less ghosting on this monitor especially when you enable blur Red and freesync. Not every monitor can enable both. The ex2730 cant do it according to a youtber i asked.I just need to adapt to the screen little bit because its much better then my old one and more colorful i just get dizzy lol. they sell this for 470 in my country Belgium bought it from Amazon.nl for 350 xp for this price its really good and amazing. I recommend.
