I bought this yesterday in the philippines for $310USD shipped. It’s competitors like the m27q and vg27 from asus, are all priced at $420++ from where I live. While they do have slightly better refresh rates at 170hz, I still went with viewsonic for $100 less

Thanks for this review - very helpful to a layman like myself. Still agonising over whether to go for this ViewSonic XG2705-2K or the BenQ EX2780Q. Currently very similarly priced and they seem very similar. What I think I've got is the BenQ has slightly better colour accuracy, has HDR functions, and less likely to trail/blur in gaming despite its 5ms response time. Given my current GTX 1660 Ti card, I suspect I can't take full advantage of the refresh rates anyway. Quite possibly mistaken on some of the above points, but my mind's exploded already.

Would definitely suggest the BenQ over this one. As for the refresh rates, indeed you're really going to struggle at 1440p with that GPU - hopefully you'll upgrade it as some point, otherwise I'd suggest just going for a 1080p monitor instead. Glad you enjoyed the review and found it useful :)

Hi, I was Looking for this cheap monitor, I was interested as its the first time i would buy a 2K monitor, but i was concerned on what you said about valorant as i usually play it, i have another monitor which is 165hz xzeal, so the one im replacing would be my second monitor which is an old 60hz hdmi or vga samsung monitor, would you say its okay to game valorant on it? Trying to decide between this and XG2705 (1080p). I don't think I would ever go beyond 1080p in gaming (my GPU isn't intended for gaming) but I don't mind 1440p for other stuff. I know 1080p wouldn't look as great on 1440p, but then 1080p on 27" isn't exactly optimal either, although a lot of people say that lower pixel density isn't as big of an issue as some people say it is. And of course, 1080p is simply cheaper. Plus, honestly, I'm a bit wary of dead pixels that would eventually pester me on the "better" panel. I noticed that it's not a common issue on unoptimal panels such as 27" / 1080p. Not sure if it has to do with pixel density or something else. So, what would you suggest I should do?

@@TotallydubbedHD it's Nvidia Quadro k2100m. I intend to do productivity stuff mostly and watch media, but I also might game a bit in-between. I figure this is definitely not a good pick for FPS/TPS games as apparently this monitor (and VX2705-2KP-MHD for that matter) is notorious for long response time. I'm wondering if I could play some emulated console games at least with none of its major flaws to interfere in the process.

They're both good, but I'd suggest the AOC 24G2U or the newer G2SPU, or the BenQ EX240. I've got reviews on all of them, go give them a watch.

I don't know that GPUs performance, so you're best looking at GPU reviews to see if you can comfortably output 1440p

Have you tested 1440p + 120hz + VRR on Xbox Series X or S? Didn't quite get that from your video. This combination seems to be problematic for many monitors for some reason.

@@NoName-rajin i still have the monitor and i use at as my main monitor with my 6600xt. Its an ok monitor. Animation is smooth and picture is decent. Viewing angles are good. The only bad thing about it is the screen does not get very bright.
