My Whirlpool had a sensing light flashing. You raise the light up and down six times realfast. Then lay about a six pound weight on the corner of the lid where the lock switch is. That stops the vibration to the lock switch. fixed mine. apparently the lid vibrates and cretes a signl to the lock switch.

HERE'S HOW TO CALIBRATE the Amana after you replace the shock absorbers or other major parts: Go to diagnostic mode as described in this fellows video. All the LED's will be lit. FIRST make sure there is no clothes or water in the basket. Then all you do is ROTATE the control knob until the MIDDLE led is lit . You will have 2 leds NOT-LIT to the left and 2 NOT-LIT on the right. (ignore the RED LED). Now it is in CALIBRATION mode!! all you have to do to ACTIVATE CALIBRATION mode is press the START button. Then the machine will go through some 2 minutes of clicking and spinning the motor. Just be patient and wait for it to do its thing. Then it finally clicks and ALL THE LED's are OFF. That means it is done with CALIBRATION. wash some clothes and see if it is fixed. Mine is fixed but ONLY replacing the shock absorbers DID NOT FIX IT. It must be calibrated any time you replace a major part like that. I found my REPAIR MANUAL book inside the washer on the FRONT panel. Only had to remove the TOP PANEL to get the repair manual.

Before your video, I'd been running diagnostics but couldn't figure out how to read the error codes! "I found that the service manual is included in the washer casing. When in front of the unit, open lid, look into tub (back at yourself) and in the now upper right corner is the service booklet in a plastic bag stuck to the front of the inside of unit. It goes through all of the codes and steps to test the unit."

I ordered a new water inlet valve, they sent one that didn’t fit. I called and ordered the (correct🤞🏽) new one, and not only was it the right one....they sent me 2 ✌🏼of them! Anybody know of any washer that uses 2 inlet valves? .....eh, didn’t think so.😅 Anyways, I replaced the inlet valve, ran diagnostics, cleared the fault codes, and successfully did a load of laundry. fireonice143

Hi!!!! This was a GREAT video!! Bookmarked the page for future reference! I'm trying to repair my Mom's Amana NTW4650YQ0 top load washer and the control board was burnt so I bought another board with the same part number off of eBay labelled as a Whirlpool control board. I know that a variety of brands will carry the same type of control board so I was pretty confident as the part number was the same. I installed the new board, plugged in, set the machine to a small load and the machine filled fine then the lid locked and it went into wash mode. So far so good, right? Cycled out of wash mode and went in to rinse mode and then all lights went off so I took the hose off and drained all the water to try again. I tried entering diagnostics based on other KZbin videos but your detailed video really did the trick and I finally succeeded. I tried manual diagnostics and the machine entered all the cycles and I could hear the drum spinning so the rinse/spin seems to be working fine but I don't know why it's not rinsing during regular use. I also ran the diagnostics and only the "fill" LED flashed so I'm assuming everything is fine. What else can I try?

I've done updated videos on this. Sadly, KZbin hates the idea of editing videos, otherwise I'd of added more content to it. I made this video before that was a frequent thing with these style washers.

@@MariaMoreno-iy6nm GENERALLY that means it cannot detect any fail codes. If you cycle through the next one or two codes and get the same info, there may not be any major codes stored in it. Having said that, the sensing fill light flashing when the machine is running, and not doing anything else 'til its filled - it may be a pressure hose/switch problem on detecting proper fill volumes which typically doesn't have a code to it. I would suggest re-calibrating the machine, and make sure that clear plastic pressure hose isn't damaged.

I have thought for a few weeks now that my problem was my lid lock. You just confirmed it!! I loved your video. Good job! Rated excellent. Now how do I replace the lid lock? Thank you, much. M.Abel

I have another video for that one in the library

The real question should be how can we GET RID OF THE LID LOCK?! THERE'S LITERALLY NO REASON TO LOCK A LID THAT'S METAL AND RESTS DOWNWARDLY WHEN CLOSED.

I hate to comment because I found this video somewhat useful, but I'd like to clarify the issue of the lights and codes. The lights indicate the equivalent BINARY NUMBERS of the code; you do not add them together - you translate them. Search "binary numbers" for how to read a binary number. The leftmost light does indicate subsystem and component (F & E codes). Also, Whirlpool tapes a printed service guide inside the washer casing. This guide has the codes and other service guides. Don't let a repair person take it from the machine's owner.

I have a Kenmore with the lights display. However, my light that shows Fill in your video has Sensor instead. Will the code for that light still be F?

Never have I heard them called Uh monnas. Perhaps I lived a sheltered life. Great video, hope I can figure out why mine is stuck, humming, full of water.
@bensappliancesandjunk3 жыл бұрын
If its humming and water isn't draining, likely the pump

Ben my Kenmore 500 series I did the diagnostic test exactly like you showed and mine only came out with 1 light at the end, the sensory light lit up, what could that be? I'm so confused

I got F3 and E3 what’s does that mean if I look at them separately I have 2 Different error Codes because you don’t list F3E3 ? Why does it mean?
@natalievinson47204 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the video it shows on my amana the fill and wash blink and then the complete blinked. So that is F4..0? I don’t see that on your list. Any ideas?
@bensappliancesandjunk4 жыл бұрын
Yes, Fill/Wash should be F4. However, Whirlpool/Amana may have changed the codes slightly on the newest machines with an additional set of numbers and codes. Some machines don't start at #4 at wash, but rather #8 (then 4, 2,1, ect). If that were the case on your machine, it could be F8/E0 which would be low water volume to the machine (clogged supply lines / bad valve / ect)

Same..i have the same machine from tve Video and light Fill=F and wash=4 plus cycle complete light= E0...

@melaniehenggeler37794 жыл бұрын
Teresa Rodriguez I’m getting this same code did you figure out how to fix yours?
@poncinena2 жыл бұрын
I’m getting the same code on my Amana. Sensing Fill and Wash are blinking and then Cycle Complete blinks. (F4-E0..? Which is not on the list in the video. The machine is at least 5 years old so I’m not sure if the codes are the same.) I just put in a load in the morning and it was working fine. All I have been able to get it to do is drain/spin and that was after a few tries it finally worked twice. When I start a normal cycle it just starts to slowly spin back and forth, like it does when it’s filling or washing, but no water comes out. After a few minutes it starts to drain…air because there’s no water lol. Has anyone had this problem and figured it out? I wish I could fix it myself!! I don’t know if to call a repairman or just get a new one.

HOW Stupid it's like trying to diagnose a BMW .I can see the repair technician coming to your house takes one look at the washer and tells you the motherboard is bad BUT THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS

Hey there , sorry for the trouble. So I tried the pattern you suggested to enter diagnostic mode but no led lights pops up. Would it the board be bad or the lock is bad?
@Some_One_One2 жыл бұрын
My Amana did the same. Nothing lights up when doing these sequences.
