You’ll want to apply the caulking to a cool surface - out of direct sunlight. The warm caulk will be runnier which just takes the fun out of it! Nice video Ben!

Thanks Ben! Very informative as usual! Not a fun job! I have left the tape on too long, leaving a messy finish!

We just took our trailer out and de-winterized it. Looking forward to the summer.

Hello! Can you tell where you got your lanterns from ? I've seem them in your videos and we are looking for those. Thanks! Really enjoy your videos

@@christinecourtemanche8023hey! I bought my lanterns from Dollarama! If you can find them. You might have to look around as they are quite popular. You can always find the metal stamped lanterns online. Good luck! 😊

You should use a plastic scrapper to remove the caulking, less chance of damaging the RV.

I tried the plastic one and it annoyed me so I switched to the metal one and tried to be careful.

Is the WD40 the solvent based one? I am looking at caulking the seam along the roof and was told to avoid petroleum based lubricants near a rubber roof
@CampingwiththeColes5 ай бұрын
Definitely don't use WD40 on the rubber roof. WD40 won't damage your trailer walls and that's why it's recommended to remove caulking on the side of the trailer but it will damage your rubber roof if you use it there. For my roof I usually caulk over the old cracked caulking, as long is it isn't coming off. If the old caulking is coming off, I would pull off what I could and leave the rest, then clean it and caulk it.

@@CampingwiththeColes Thanks for the info. The seam is where the side of the trailer and the roof meet. I will avoid using WD-40 in case of overspray. I will try and use rubber roof cleaner and remove some caulking that I can
