We bought this system based on your review and experience. We have a single axle trailer and felt much more safe knowing we could monitor the tires while on a longer trip, especially after watching a couple of your videos where you did have a flat tire. Thanks again for the review.

In my opinion the TPMS is one of the most valuable addons you can get for your trailer. It provided piece of mind when travelling down the road and could prevent a blowout that in some cases could destroy your trailer. We've been using ours for a few years now and we're very pleased with it.

I've had of these for 2 years now and it has been great. I left one RV park once and within a mile of the park I got an alarm that a tire was low and sure enough it needed some air. I also like the tireminder free battery support each year.

Hello Ben. Checking in to see if you are still happy with the TPMS. I will follow your lead on this too. Side note...just installed our LCI Jack It bike rack on the week-end and I'm quite pleased with it, in the driveway anyway. Cheers from Elmira.

Hi John, I'm still happy with this TPMS. It's very easy to use and understand. One thing though, the signal booster that attaches to the trailer battery died for some reason. Luckily it was 3 days before the 1 year warranty was up so they replaced it at no charge. I checked the forums and it doesn't seem to be a common problem. So I would still definitely recommend this TPMS system. I know several people with the Jack-It bike rack and everybody loves it. Still highly recommended.

Glad it helped. A couple of weeks ago we had our first flat tire while using the TPMS. It saved us! It alarmed for a rapid pressure loss. I was able to find a safe spot to pull over to change the tire. The tire wasn't yet completely flat when I stopped. If I didn't have the TPMS, I'm sure it would have turned in to a full blown blowout and that could have caused a lot of damage. I can't say enough about the value of a good TPMS.

Great video. Didn't know this existed until recently. We've had two flats with two different trailers night driving. Getting this TPMS. Thank you for the tutorial.

I would definitely still recommend this. It's saved us twice. One of the times we were actually recording when the alarm sounded. It's in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKDSZaOLl8mefpI at around the 5:38 mark. I replace the batteries in the sensors each year to ensure a good signal and I remove the sensors and booster when putting the trailer away for winter storage.

Thanks for the video, very helpful indeed. Now, my setup is different, so we'll see how well it works for us. I have a diesel pusher motorhome, and it states in the instructions (which is a little confusing) 'recommending' to add it to a closet light switch, which may work for me as we have one, but further down it states - 'if engine is diesel the booster must be place on the undercarriage'! So, I'm not sure which is the best method, as if using the closet light, I'd probably have to cut off the alligator clips, but if on the undercarriage, the clips would be needed, if I can get it to a battery source! Also should the booster be pointing in a specific direction for best results, pointing at the trailer, or forward to the display? Is the booster's light on all the time (even while camping) using up 12V power? We'll be doing some boon docking, so I'd probably want to disconnect it if that where the case. Thanks again, as I have the minder in front of me, and things are ready to go, so we'll see how it works out!
@CampingwiththeColes
@CampingwiththeColes 3 жыл бұрын
I don't know what is best for a motorhome. For a truck and trailer they suggest putting the booster between the tire sensors and the display and recommend it be on the undercarriage so the signal bounces off the road to the booster. The green light on the booster is always on so it is always drawing a charge from the battery. When I boondock I disconnect the booster by unhooking the alligator clips from the battery. I love the peace of mind this TPMS gives me when travelling. Good luck!
@Powerstroke98
@Powerstroke98 3 жыл бұрын
@@CampingwiththeColes Thanks for the reply! I found a way to get a solid connection for the booster on my frame-rail, about 2' from the back of my coach, and measured to the rear tire (approximately) of my enclosed utility trailer, which was 17'. Yes, the green light shines bright, and I was able to get the alligator clips to my house batteries (I have 4 Battleborn Lithium for house batteries) and I can easily disconnect the negative of the booster, assuming that should be ok. I could do the positive, but it would take me a few seconds to take the cap off my bus-bar to disconnect. I'm assuming it should work, albeit I won't be able to test it until we go on vacation eventually, the way things are parked. Thanks for your help!

It was my understanding that cruise control is a no no when towing.
@CampingwiththeColes
@CampingwiththeColes 3 жыл бұрын
When towing on fairly flat roads, cruise control is fine to use. It's best to not use in a hilly area as you should be in tow haul mode and you want it to be able to control your down hills descents better. Happy camping!

Any issues with leakage around stem on sensors should I use teflon tape to seal
@CampingwiththeColes
@CampingwiththeColes 3 жыл бұрын
No leakage at all. I don't bother using the locking nuts either. They are just there to thwart theft and not needed to keep the sensors on. I don't want to bother with the little wrench that comes with the system, every time I want to put air in the tires.

I just purchased this and immediately turning on I can hear a buzzing noise from the monitor. I ordered a replacement thinking there’s a defect, but the new one has the same buzzing noise. It’s not very loud but if you put your ear next to it can hear it. Does your monitor also make a buzzing noise?
@CampingwiththeColes
@CampingwiththeColes 2 жыл бұрын
I've had it for almost 2 years and I've never noticed a sound coming from the monitor. After reading your question, I went out to the truck and pulled the monitor down and put it to my ear. I could hear a faint high pitched tone coming from it. I wouldn't call it a buzzing sound. It was a tone like the emergency broadcast system. I could only hear it when it was right up to my ear.

Does it have audible alarms, and how long does the charge last on a cloudy day?
@CampingwiththeColes
@CampingwiththeColes 3 жыл бұрын
Yes it has audible alarms when the temp gets too high, when there is a quick drop in pressure and when the pressure gets below a certain level. From my experience when it's charged it will work for about 3 days without any light to charge it. So driving at night or a cloudy day won't affect anything. If you happen to be driving for more than 3 cloudy days you can always plug it in through the micro USB to the vehicles DC outlet (cigarette lighter) to power and charge it.

You can use 2 sensors with it or 4. If just have a single axle trailer you can save $50 and buy the system with just 2 sensors. If you think you might upgrade to 2 axles in the future you might want to buy the system with 4 sensors.
