I think the reason you didn't get any readings is that the sensors must be in motion to work. In other words, install the sensors and get the base unit set up, then go for a 5-10 minute drive. You should see readings then. Thanks for the review. I wasn't sure if the base unit gave an audio alarm and from what you said, it does, as well as the display changes color.
@WeekendScampers3 жыл бұрын
Yep, they go to sleep. Whenever we hit the road they lock in and work great. We did 2200 miles a couple weeks ago and they didn’t miss a beat.

It does drive me crazy that we have to leave the campground, and get 5-10 mins down the road, to find we have a low pressure issue. Finding somewhere to pullover with a 30' travel trailer can be challenging in New England. Or, as noted in the video, unscrew each sensor, with the unit turned on, before rolling out. Thanks for putting this together for us !
@WeekendScampers11 ай бұрын
Has yours always been delayed? As long as I turn my display on before I hook on, mine 9 times out of 10 will show up as soon as I pull my trailer out of the shop.
@davet22211 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, yeah. Mine’s solar and sitting on my dash so pretty much on all the time. The numbers are always there in the display but they don’t update until we get rolling. I purchased the repeater at the same time and am going to add it in to see if it makes any difference. Will let you guys know.

@@WeekendScampers So mine was working fine. It says you can turn off the display. I turned mine off. Now nothing. Each time I turn off, I have to remove each tire sensor for it to start reading again. Bummer. So if I run out of power, I have to do process over again. So I moved the car and it triggered the sensors to come on. I'll see what happens tomorrow. Thanks again for the help
@WeekendScampers2 жыл бұрын
@@yvettestewart8002 that’s weird. As long as I have my display on when I start moving, mine link right up no problem. Thousands of miles on them. They do go to sleep though, so if it’s sitting a while it’ll quit reading if the wheels haven’t been moving.

Mine doesn't show high or low pressure i bought 2 different and none show it. Am I missing something
@camperbum Жыл бұрын
FYI, you must be rolling down the road before you get a reading, and it only updates psi when in Motion.
@WeekendScampers Жыл бұрын
Yep, it’s been flawless for a long time now as long as I remember to turn the display on before I hook onto my camper. It normally will still show up after 7-10 minutes if I didn’t have the display on first though.

@@WeekendScampers I have a older version of this, it's still working great, saved us a few times on our roas trips, I did switch to steel valve steams because the weight of the sensors made the rubber valve steams leak air, so if you have slow leak, check your steams.

@@camperbum I’ve really been impressed with them. Thought I’d have to babysit it but I think it’s been a year and a half and they’re still full and no issues. Glad to hear you are getting the same results.

@@WeekendScampers I highly recommend them Whichever brand, They'll save you a headache on the highway, Just remember when you're parked they're not registering the accurate amount of pressure until you drive down the road.

My Tymate product includes 4 silicon seals/gaskets like thin rings. When are they used, and how ?
@WeekendScampers2 ай бұрын
I vaguely remember thinking "what are these extra parts for" when I did this, so I may have had those in mine too. I don't remember anything like that other than the rubber boot that made it seal that went over the valve stem.
@MAa-wc3xrАй бұрын
Those are replacement o-rings for each sensor(to keep water out of electronics). They are only spares so no worries. Since they come pre installed already.

Can you tell me if I need to have steel tire stems or are the rubber ok. I have had people say you need to change out your stems to steel if your going to add tpms to your wheels. This is for an airstream single axle
@WeekendScampers20 күн бұрын
I've never given that a thought, I suppose steel would work fine, but mine aren't steel and they've probably got close to 10,000 miles on TPMS by now.

Just subscribed and enjoyed your video. I bought this last week. Installing tomorrow. Is everything still ok holding up and any pro tips? What are the rubber small rings for as I noticed you didn’t use them? Thanks for the help
@WeekendScampers2 жыл бұрын
So far no issues. Have worked flawlessly for about a year now. Thousands of miles on them. Only tip is remember to turn on the display before you hook on to the trailer. They register way quicker when they wake up from sleeping vs updating going down the road already.
@WeekendScampers2 жыл бұрын
And I have no clue what the rubber rings were for. I don’t even remember them now, but apparently they weren’t critical to the install (thus far anyway).

What is the range 20,30,40, feet? some need a booster to read correctly

I measured and my truck is 20ft and from the front of the tongue to the back of my rear tires it's 25ft, so in my particular case it's 45 feet from the receiver to the where the monitors are and it's never not connected.

What do s the flat square pad for? Is it to go under the device?
@WeekendScampers2 жыл бұрын
The rubber looking thing I assume? Yeah, that’s a pad that keeps it from sliding around on your dash. It actually works really well. I’ve had thousands of miles on it since installing it, and it hasn’t slid around on the dash once.
