I just test drove one of these today and it was truly amazing! I know Thomas talked about the harsh acceleration but Bentley says this is the fastest accelerating SUV in the world. The way this SUV picked up speed was exhilarating. Its not like a normal Bentley ( like the Continental Gt of which i've driven) where its not fast but its "quick" in the sense that it accelerates quickly without throwing your head in the headrest. The Bentayga is fast and I love it!

Yes but you cannot see the floorpan. However, that wonderful Aston Martin 5.9 V12 engine does have idlers bearings from a Ford Transit van..... so nothing is new !

+TacoSeniour technically it's an Audi Q7 look at the buttons and the electronics. The MLB platform designed by Audi (not VW) is used for all the premium SUV's of Volkswagen group, from the Q5 to the Bentayga. The Touareg will move on that platform with the next generation in 2017-2018.

Typical that the Side Scan did not work - modern complicated systems for you, I suppose. Or a software glitch - I don't know? Still, now to the environmental reasons: 1. There are many productions where the cow is killed for the skin first, sometimes even alive, the skin is the most profitable single part of the body. 2. The way the cows are held are catastrophic (see videos below) 3. Even if a cow gets killed for meat first, you give additional money to an industry that relies on murder, pollutes the environment and harms people with chemicals. 4. Does it really matter for which cause a mammal, that is 99 % genetically identical with us, gets killed? Would you say a cow only got slaughtered for the meat in the leg and thus it got slaughtered for the meat in the neck anyway? That doesn’t make sense. 5. So to the often said argument, animal skin would just be a byproduct, please google/youtube "leather is not a byproduct" you will find plenty of information. A good overview on all those issues can also be found here: adaptt.org/ 6. Let's say you are standing at the meat counter. And you ask for the leg of the cow. The butcher tells you: "You can eat that without worrying, the cow was slaughtered for the neck first". The next customer demands the neck. The butcher tells him: "It's not your fault, the cow was slaughtered for the belly". An the next customer demands the hide, what answer does he get? You see, that argument of "byproduct" comes from the meat and leather industry to cover that you contribute to killing no matter which part of the body you buy. Special videos: 1. I don't like when things are shoved down my throat and I am being told what to think. I like to make my own opinions on any subject if it is car, religion or politics. Need to stop judging people of their choice they make or opinion they have. boght 2017 Bentayga w12 for 110k and 2017 MB w222 S63 facelift with all options for 87k. Two absolutely best cars to drive. Also boght Supersports 2010, little riski business but what a nice feeling to drive it. And Panamera diesel 310kw, total joy. And Ford Rapror. These are cars to have and enjoy. I had 991 992 TurboS, which i sold and boght for the money Bentayga, S63 and Supersports, all for 992 tbs money!!!! Also had new G63 and g400, sold both, Bentayga are way better, not so iconic but better. So, i just prefer to enjoy life with those cars than without them))

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised how harsh the suspension seems to be. Every bump seems to come right through, and that's something I totally didn't expect in a really high end SUV like this :o A very interesting watch nonetheless!

Thomas - towards the end you speculate as to why automakers love to advertise high maximum speed in their vehicles. The answer to WHY is now because of V.W. Group, they use their own personal proving grounds which has a 8.7KM or 5.4Mile straightaway that they (and they alone mostly) achieve the top speeds of their cars.

Are there any car manufacturers left that don't have SUVs now after the Skoda, Seat, Jaguar, and this? Makes me sad that the world continues to go in the completely wrong direction compared to what we should be doing, which is to have the smallest car that can reasonably fit your needs. I really like your reviews and I'm watiching them very often. You do it like, some one would be sitting next to you in that car. With this presentation this feeling feels more intence :) Anyway about the car. I've seen the car on some pictures, that were introducing the car to the bentley offer. Than I said to my self, what an ugly thing! I've never been a fan of benlteys, not for their looks or something like that. Rather that maybe this is a rare car to be seen on the roads at least in Poland. I think this is the case of popularity of the make. But when you presented it I saw something facinating in it. I think when you buy such car you can feel very different then other ones on the road. The car is different, there is something avant-garde about it ;) And yes I like the indicator ticking also, and the things to close the vents. Great :) I'm a huge fan of Mercedes make, but recently I'm very disapointed about the new E class. I don't know if it's the case of models given to the presenters but never the less there is something not right with it. Thanks for reading this quite long text and keep up the good work. This is one type of modern wide vehicles that requires autonomous systems. BECAUSE; from my experience most S.U.V. drivers in the U.K. cannot keep within their lanes on narrow roads OR park their enormous vehicles within the parking spaces. ✌️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
