Interestingly, I have a handful of verses, twelve or so, that I just automatically use to check a Bible. For the first time ever, the BSB is the only Bible translation I've encountered that nails all of these verses. Well, eleven out of twelve, but that is still more than any other Bible I have encountered. I confess, I wasn't expecting to like the BSB, and I certainly wasn't looking for a new translation, but the BSB has become my primary Bible.

I think I said it before but it’s awesome that you do this! Thanks Tim ✌🏼

Hopefully the Majority standard translation gets a nice printed edition like the BSB.

Thank you for the review. It is definitely top 3 translation for me. I like to use it for reading and sharing in my Bible study. I like the more literal bibles for apologetic reasons, but I could still use this when needed. Even though there are some parts where I wish were more literal.

Very interesting, about the most critical text translation I use is the CSB. When comparing it to the NKJV, in Blue Letter Bible, it’s quite similar in its reading .

Thank you for this! I was looking at digital bibles and noticed the BSB came up and i had no idea what the translation was like. Seems decent!

Going to see how this reads as I've ordered one. Tend to be NKJV/NASB.

I’ve just recently found your channel. And I’m glad I did! It is so helpful. Do you have any videos of the history of the various manuscripts? Or book recommendations on that subject? Thanks!

My buddy Tim Wildsmith is actually writing a book on this very topic. Look him up on KZbin!

I really don't think you should have a Bible without robust notes system. Maybe not all will get to the levels of the NET, but they should be a robust a possibility. There are just so much manuscripts and text types to choose whichever persuasion you're of not to at least have a footnote that says there are alternative renderings or at least say why the translation team opted for that particular rendering as opposed to another.

I do agree notes are an extremely important part of the translation.

Which translation would you say is more readable; this BSB or the NLT?
@anickelsworthbiblereviews Жыл бұрын
I’d say they are both equally readable. The BSB handles the poetry better.
@Ldgreggbell4 ай бұрын
The BSB is just so much better, even if it's not as readable.

Tim, excellent overview of why the BSB is a great study and reading option (the note system and the interesting translation choices)! BTW, I have another question for you. I've noticed that you end the script of each of your videos in the exact same way, saying Keep Calm, Jesus something, etc. But you say it so fast that it's not completely intelligible. If I may ask, what exactly is it that you end each of your videos saying?
@anickelsworthbiblereviews Жыл бұрын
Keep Calm and Jesus on!
