I ordered one for my beretta 92 my glock came with the metal rod if you will notice the 1993 first edition came with all metal parts on the stainless model good shooting to you all

It's for first timers I guess. I just wanted to see if what all the benefits might be. I just switched mine out with the stainless. Got a fancy gold spring with mine for a dollar more.

You gotta get the captured recoil system for the 92/96A1s and 90-TWOs. This won’t work in those.

I'm assuming the plastic rods were standard before 2020? I just got my 92 on Halloween. Shot her a few times then took her apart to clean her. My guide rod is black coated steel.

I got mine in 2021. Its a 92fs inox, and it has the plastic one like in the video. Maybe different models of the 92 come with different ones.

You can use the factory spring. I have the spring kit he mentions but haven't replaced them yet. The new SS guide is a great upgrade to the plastic factory guide rod.

How about making a guide rod for Beretta cougar’s/Stoeger cougar’s all calibers. You won’t make a ton of money up front but you will have a bunch of repeat customers for all your other stuff.

Beretta is an all around better gun then a glock, but if you put metal rod in it ,,glock cant touch it ,, now I have 3000 rounds threw my 92 with the same rod not one jam or malfunction

The fluting serves no purpose, aside for the looks, and no it does not hold oil to lube the gun- thats bs from Wilson Combat to push there over priced swill.

Why did they do plastic? This is my 2nd 92. My first had the stainless. Just discovered this. FUCKING REALLY !! You know, I started to break down this pistol in the store. I wish I had. I feel like i've been shit, maybe because I have ! Going back to the store tomorrow and there going to "GIVE" me my guide rod ! I Promise you ! WTF !

@@eric802 read up on it and Beretta technician says: (over time the steel rod will crack the locking block, damage the frame and weaken the spring ) i.e. sounds to me like it's more cost-effective for them to give you a cheapo polymer rod and justify it by saying there are longterm advantages... Competitive shooters use steel for a reason and they do not have to replace the plastic after 3000-5000 rounds
