Beretta A300 Outlander - update after 400+ rounds

Your reviews are very to the point and accurate. I’ve had mine since 2013 and only had 1 failure to eject and that was from the first box of shells I shot through it. I’ve hunted everything from turkeys to nutria with it with no problems. Light target loads all the way up to magnum turkey loads. For anyone considering one of these, do some research on the Beretta 390 shotguns, the A300 is a slightly modified version of the tried and true 390 that Beretta made for years.

Steve Gebhardt Thanks Steve. I try to make them better each time, while trying to do something g different from the vids that are already out there on other channels. It's challenging but I enjoy it. I have a few video projects in mind but finding the time has been challenging too!

I haven't had one problem with mine. It even shot with the bolt had a solid sheet of ice on it. It goes boom with cheap and expensive shells.

Thanks for the informative review Bob. I was in the market for a new upland bird gun, primarily for pheasant hunting. I bought an A300 today on your recommendation. I chose the walnut stock version. Thanks again.

pramagli I'm sure you'll be very happy with this gun! I was crow hunting with it a few weeks ago when it was 5*F....say out for about an hour....the gun felt like a block of ice but it functioned perfectly!!! It's one of very few guns I've owned in my life that hasn't had me wanting for something different or "better". This gun just flat out performs with no issues. :-)

I had a bunch of failure to eject idues right in the beginning...realized it needed more lube in the action and around the ejection port...I also put a drop of oil on my finger and coated the piston chamber lightly...then I made sure the forearm nut was nice and tight!!! Shot a 100 round tournament today! Not one FTE! Ran perfect, shot an 87!

Used mine with ice on from a hard freeze morning while duck hunting not a single issue my buddies A300 Xtreme on the other hand would not cycle best gun I’ve purchased besides my maxus but over all not a single issue with mine and I use it heavily both in the duck blind and out side of the blind

Winchester being cheap ammo may have been the problem.

It's hard to tell what kind of shots you're taking... are you just throwing clays up into the air and shooting ? I know you're out there alone but, it'd be cool to see you taking the shot from afar and then use the shotcam footage in conjunction with it.

Tobias Forge Yes, I was just hand tossing them. I have a few things planned for this shotgun this year....more shooting and better video with two or more cameras. I have a crow hunting video that shows the camera angles you're looking for. It's crow hunting at 27*F I think it's called. This shotgun is doing great!!!

I had the same malfunction with the Winchester shells in my Stoeger m3500 it’s like the shells were swelling and getting stuck. No problems with any other shells and it’s well over 1000 rounds

You are right the Winchester hulls are too soft and do swell causing ejection failures. Unfortunately people think that their gun is malfunctioning.

I have had trouble with Winchester Universal ammo in a few shotguns. Even in a well used, 40 year old 870 (no problems with any other ammo) It seems the brass base is thinner than other shotgun ammo. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, just an observation.
