Great comparison, guys! I have yet to touch the Creed (I have the old PPX), but I am very impressed with the APX and think it is very underrated among the newer polymer models.

Good review....! Added a Creed to the arsenal and took it to the range for a warm up yesterday. Box of WWB 115 GR FMJ had zero issues. Admittedly, for a hammer-fire (cleverly disguised as a striker-fire) this platform had no issues. For piece of mind, I even double-tapped both mags with some Hornady Critical Duty (135 GR) and Remington UMC (115 GR FMJ) with ZERO ISSUES! The one honorable mention was "user error" when I inadvertently placed my thumb on the slide stop lever....LOL! While this acquisition is for the garage/pick up truck, I am pleased thus far! At any rate, thank you for the review....glad to be a new sub! Bravo!

Here is my observation on 9mm FMJ malfunctions: I have owned a dozen or so 9mm pistols since 1989 and I can tell you with 100% certainty that the lighter the bullet is and the lower the velocity is the MORE chance there is for a failure. 115gr rounds that chrongraph under 1100fps are the worst. Hotter "NATO" loads that are 123-124gr and clock in over 1100fps are by a wide (almost total) margin the best. I always bring a chrony when I go shooting outdoors. 95% of ALL 9mm FMJ failures I have witnessed were with light loaded 115gr. The other 5% is always attributed to a damaged magazine.

Great honest review! I own a few Walthers, The P99 AS, PPQ, PPS M2 & the Q5 Match and I’m a big Walther fan. I also have an APX and I’ve shot the Creed before. The APX is a really nice gun that I think is over looked by many KZbin gun channels. For me the APX has less felt recoil and shoots flatter than my Walthers, which allows for quicker site acquisition on followup shots. The build quality of the APX is very good for the price. The Slide has a very smooth feeling action, slide and mag release are easy to use and work much better than the P10C,s slide and mag releases. Sorry Beretta Jr. but I’m in Beretta Senior’s camp on this one if I’m picking between the APX and the Creed.

Sportimus plus one on the magazine loader. I have one myself and feel the same way. Only drawback is ammo seems to burn up that much faster LOL. Regarding the apx, I would say do it. Especially now that the FDE, RDO, Centurion, and compact are available. I bought a standard full-size in 9mm as my first striker-fired gun. While apprehensive at first, I quickly grew to love it. Certainly wouldn't mind picking up a set of Trijicons for it though.

Thanks for the side-by-side comparison guys. Great review on both, from top to bottom you covered all the bases. My only issue with the APX is that when slick, the slide is almost impossible to rack. That’s not just my finding either, Tim from Military Arms Channel tried to do a torture test on the APX and once it was the slightest bit wet it was like trying to hold onto an eel! Other than that it’s a great shooting gun (I concur the sights could be better). The Creed is awesome for a $280-$300 option. Walther definitely did a good job on it. I do love the PPQ M2 too though!
@arcfide
@arcfide 6 жыл бұрын
I've posted a video doing an in-depth examination of just how the slide serrations operate when slick. My personal opinion is that the slide's behavior when wet is a little exaggerated, the slide isn't as slick as people make it out to be, and otherwise more usable than the competition under all other conditions.
@kentucky89nation17
@kentucky89nation17 5 жыл бұрын
I’ve personally covered my hands in gun oil dripping wet and tried and you get insane purchase and grip everytime with those serrations. I aswell saw his video complaining about he couldn’t grip the serrations. Do yourself a favor and try it for yourself because he couldn’t have been more wrong about them. They are almost too much to me personally by how “grippy” they are but all in all the APX is the best out of box striker fired pistol I have owned and everytime a reputable company makes a new one my hands are on it eventually. APX is top tier in this guys hands.

Aaron Hsu completely agree it just seems people want to see the APX fail because deep down they know there is a new king on top and this time it’s Beretta ;) I believe it’s the most complete out of box striker fired pistol on the market right now.

Hi, would like to give my version of Walther Creed malfunction. The problem hidden in the design flow of the magazine release button. When shooter grips the gun sometimes not willingly of coarse, he depresses mag release button a tiny bit just enough to misplace the mag and missfeeding of a round happened. Again not a shooter’s fault, design flow.

I bought my Creed a couple of months ago. Before that, the last time I shot a pistol was five years ago. I was such a poor pistol shot that I was looking at a Mossberg Shockwave or Remington Tac-14 bc “you don’t have to be as accurate as you would with a pistol.” Luckily, I read up on the Creed and bought it for $249.99 from CDNN. Went to the range with it and shot better than I ever had. Biggest thing Creed gives a new shooter is confidence. Full disclosure: Five years ago I had been given poor instructions on how to line up my sights. After watching a few KZbin videos and some brief teaching texts from my buddy who is Army SF (Green Beret), I went to the range. Still, I’m glad I went with Creed. After a few weeks of owning Creed, i purchased a PPQ 45 ACP. And I currently have a Walther P99C AS 9mm on hold for purchase in a few days. I can shoot out the center of a silhouette from 10-15 yds with PPQ .45 and Creed. Not nearly the shot that BerettaSr. and YBeretta are but still shoot better than most ppl at the range. The pistols have A TON to do with it. They instill confidence in novice shooters.

You are now back into some very nice pistols and your skills will continue to get better and better. I love your handgun picks as they will be so much easier to carry or transport over the small shotguns. Not to mention CCW. If we (Young Beretta and I) were able to help you in the smallest way to give a pistol a try.... then that makes me smile. 😎👍🇺🇸 Congratulations! Beretta Sr.

It's interesting you mention the sights. I've heard more than one reviewer comment on that, but in all the cases, it was the full sized APX. I have the Compact, with a shorter slide and my sights are stunningly bright, and don't show the tiny imperfections seen in your APX. Makes me wonder. Personally, I love the gun, shoots very nice, flat as can be and comes right back in line for the follow-up shots.

Aaron Neumeyer if you haven’t tried the APX yet make sure you do before purchasing a 2.0. I have 5 paper weights now since getting the APX and a 2.0 9mm is one of them along with a gen 3/4 Glock 19 a vp9 and a cz p-10. Something about the APX in my hands, it’s trigger, accuracy, and ergonomics are a whole new level for me. I purchased the comp striker assembly for 15$ and the 20pd steel guide rod for 40$ and it’s absolutely ridiculous now. If only I could find some good night sights for it now that carry the same big to small sight picture it has I’d have a complete duty ready pistol.

From the profile, it looks like the APX is getting back on sights faster than the Creed. I paid $419 for my APX when it was new. LGS had a sale. It shoots great. I put a Leopold Delta Point Pro on mine when Beretta released the dovetail mount. I'm waiting for them to sell the DPP milled slide from the RDO, though. I would love co-witnessed sights like on my P226RX. Amusing you find the Creed sights better. They're pretty good on the APX, but the stock sights on my CCP were absolute garbage. I put on some TruGlo night sights and they're 100% better. I'm glad they put better stuff on the Creed..

@WhiteDwarfVR4 6 жыл бұрын
Charles Soto hope this doesn't come across as a stupid question, but the dovetail Mount is an oem Beretta part?? I'd love to pick up an RDO, but if they're selling the slide separately that would certainly be the preferred option over the cost if a complete new gun and Superior to a dovetail style reflex mount.

BERETTA9mmUSA thank you! Bcz I am excited & thought I had done my homework so was bummed when I saw the video. I hope I never use it for protection & only at the range & target shooting👍 Tho things in CA are precarious & this is why I finally decided to purchase one... While I still can. What ammo do you suggest for this firearm?

Magazine improperly loaded ? Defect in the casing ? I don’t think it was the pistol , if the mag was defective it would have continued, possibly a small piece of grit in the mag , I know the creed doesn’t like dirt or sand , I just purchased a creed but haven’t fired it yet so this is concerning to me, I would have examined the shell casing

Notice they keep comparing the Beretta to another gun. Although they are good guns, Beretta is known for knocking off other guns. They have even knocked off the PPK many years ago.

In my limited experience, newer Walther products are just kind of ‘meh’. They look nice and their price point just a little more than high-point, but if you have a two pieced barrel.....no way!

Ok.. I will give you my review idea.. I was going to do the Glock 19 vs the Walther Creed, but do it like Rocky... Glocky Balboa vs Walther Creed :-). I even have the voices down. But since the gun channel thing is now tricky waters, I figured I would give it to you guys to do 😀, since I won't be starting my own.

I had my Creed for about a month before experiencing the same malfunction. When I got home and field stripped it, the slide lock lever fell off because it snapped into two pieces and a little spring fell out also. Sent it back to Walther for repair. Still waiting on its return from Walther.

The thing that turns me off of the Creed is how high the slide rides. It jumped around quit a bit and looks awkward to hold.

It's not awkward to hold. It's very similar to the PPQ. Very good ergonomically. Light recoil.

Lower the bore axis the less your get muzzle flip and recoil. APX has a 22pd steel guide rod for around 30$ that turns that 9mm recoil into a 380acp felt recoil it’s kinda ridiculous. Talking about extremely fast follow up shots and actual accuracy during mag dumps

I like the creed. It's really nice for 300 dollars and it holds it's own with more expensive guns. The Beretta is interesting, but if I want to spend 500 on a glock copy, why not just get a Glock 19?

Did you noticed you got hit in the head by a casing at the beginning of the video? The one thing putting me off about the Beretta Apx is that weak erratic ejection patterns.
