Thank you. Competition in this segment of the market is pretty tight these days. Probably more a matter of production/measurement technology advancement than anything else i.e., fewer surprises due to reduced variation.

not sure which i would buy, but the howa hera does look cool, and it shoots really well

Nice comparison! Overall, the Bergara B14 might be given the nod due to the perception of quality over the Howa Hera. It's a shame that the Bergara doesn't have a better trigger (a 2-stage would be nicer), but you can get the upgraded Performance Trigger (still single stage) with the Wilderness Model which includes some other feature upgrades as well. However, that distances the prices even further between the Bergara and the Howa and I question the grouping opening up more with the Bergara. It could be due to the thinner barrel profile. The Hera stock is sort of unusual though and I think you'd expect the grip to be more vertical than it is...like on the B14...for a rifle like this. I suppose the determining factor would be the cost. I didn't think that the Bergara had a 70-degree bolt throw.

and thats what i think about the groups is the thinner barrel profile. after 5 rounds you could really feel the heat on the barrel. yes the upgraded rifle would be alot better with the bergara but then the price goes way up, the funny part is you could buy just the howa barreled action and put it into a different chassis, and it would still be alot less than the bergara. thats something to think about!! thanks for the comment and dont forget to subscribe!!! thanks again!!!

@@UltimateArms Yup. Howa also has a model with their 1500 barreled action in a TSP H Chassis that I don't think anyone has ever reviewed for some reason. It's interesting because it has a shorter, but still a heavy barrel profile. The chassis comes with a pistol grip but is again a lot less than vertical angle. I believe that can be easily changed though.

@@markn4526 now that is interesting. i dont think i've seen one around, before. now i'll have to look for one. thanks for the heads up!!

I have both in 308. It's not even close. Berg in every way. It's like comparing a chevy to a BMW
@UltimateArms4 ай бұрын
why not. if even with changing the chassis on the howa. it would still be cheaper and shoot just as well. name means nothing now adays. either a rifle will shoot or it wont. just that simple. thanks for the comment. btw i've shot both ruger gen2 rifles one in 308 and the other in 6.5 creedmoor. the 308 version sucked! but the 6.5 shot great. depends also on the caliber!

@@UltimateArms I like your channel and I like both weapons, but they are not the same in any way. The Bergara HMR stock is lightyears better than the Hera, the action is better, barrel is better, trigger is easier to adjust, etc. They are not in the same class. Keep up the good work. I have many of the weapons you review. Similar taste in rifles :-)

Do you use the Bergara and Howa rifles for hunting or at the range or both? Primarily hunting or targets?
@UltimateArms4 ай бұрын
@@markn4526 these ones i would use at the range more. the bergara is to heavy for my liking walking in the bush the howa i would like to try it out hunting, but with the thinner barrel instead. most of the hunting i do would be 100yrds or less mostly bush hunting no clear areas. so i use alot of 3030 lever action for hunting, but there is one rifle i will be going hunting with this year. love that rifle.!!

@@markn4526 The goal is always for a hunt, but I spend a lot of time at the range. I will go through several thousand rounds this year split maionly between 6.5 and 308. All my long guns are bought to hunt but end of spending a lot of time practicing. I have Tikkas, Bergs, and Howas (and other lower end stuff). My main deer and pronghorn gun is a Tikka. Elk gun is a Bergara. IMO, after many thousand of rounds, Bergara is the best value. It's amazing how much gun you can get for sub $1k.
