Bergara B14R - Factory Stock or Chassis

I was just searching for a video that would discuss options for my 308 B-14. I’m not concerned if this is regarding competitive shooting or not. I just like the way this guy communicates. I am subscribing.

But on the subject of competitive shooting, I’ve had thoughts of introducing both myself and my 11-year-old son to the sport. He’s a little guy, about a size 8 little dude and I’d like to find a rifle that’s adjustable for his length of pull even if it means an aftermarket chassis. Any thoughts out there?

I swapped out my Bergara stock for a KRG Bravo stock/chassis. I then put the Bergara stock on my daughter's Rem 7mm-08. Everybody is happy.

I just and I mean JUST minutes ago put an MPA COMP chassi on my 308 b14 HMR wilderness and looooove it .

On your factory stock I notice you have a pad on the cheek rest. What did you slap on there? Looks grippy and like may help with a reliable cheek weld.

I tried dropping my Bergara into my KRG Whisky chassis but couldn’t get the ammo to feed reliably. I tried adjusting the mag catch and trigger guard. I read on KRG’s web site they don’t “guarantee the proper function of Bergara B-14r mags in their chassis.” It’s too bad, it looked awesome.

Some people have had no issues at all in the Bravo's but mine wouldn't feed like 3 or 4 per mag. I did have the enclosed fore end on mine, not sure if that had something to do with it. I then tried an MPA Hybrid that was hanging out in the shop and had similar feeding issues although not as bad, maybe 1 or 2 every other mag. Perhaps i should try shooting it in its factory stock just in case lol. Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Was looking into a chassis for my b14r. The KRG Bravo has a radiused inlet to fit a 700 which has a diameter of 1.350". The Bergura action is 1.360" which will increase the distance between the mag latch and the bottom of the action.

I see new MPAs are more than I want to spend. I can try to find used. How much better than something like Oryx or Bravo? I suspect that like with most products, when you get into the very expensive ones the law of diminishing returns kicks in hard.

I ended up going with the same set up with an MPA chassis. I can't seem to get the magazine to seat, no matter how i adjust the adjustable mag catch it doesn't seem to engage the catch, and will drop free. Any ideas?
