The totem pole…..Familiar to me as one from a northwest Salish tribe…looked up the sister city of Bergen, and it is listed as the neighborhood just north of me-Ballard, Seattle. There is a National Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard dedicated to the Scandinavian immigration; it is wonderful to see the source with your travelogue.

What a delight these videos have been! All of my grandparents were from Norway and my dad’s grandma’s dad was raised in Bergen by the old Bishop of Bergen’s sister - about 200 years ago! I’m picturing him on those hills! They were revolutionaries - trying to get out from under Danish and then Swedish rule at the time. They didn’t succeed at the time - but the story is fun, right? ❤
