Orozco-Estrada is a treasure. Everything I hear from him seems new and fresh. Even works that I have loved for years.

What a fabulous Orchestra is the Franfurt sinfonie and every one of their performances under the baton of Maestro Andres Orozco Estrada are superb. Such lovely rounded tones that one almost imagined one is hearing it live. Many thanks for post g this outstanding performance

Written in 1830, only three years after Beethoven’s death (in 1827)! Such a cinematic, imaginary brilliant work, masterfully orchestrated. Splendid performance by Andres and Hr-Sinfonieorchester and additionally superbly recorded! Thanks a lot!

This masterpiece is magnificent not only for the musical strength but also for its incredible harmony, sensitivity that touches us deeply emotionally. The lyricism of some parts of the work is sublime and with great elegance.Berlioz was an amazing composer and particularly in this fabulous composition, where he demonstrate his fantastic talent and audacity . The orchestra performance and direction are superb. Thanks for this notable and remarkable recording. The Symphony is really Fantastic.

To listen to this composer is to abolish the surge of everyday noises and images to half-open the space of an elsewhere where contingency and representation give way to the immateriality of the sensitive. Once the door is closed on the agitation of the world, an underlying silence sets in, a slowness seizes, preludes to a dilation of perception and consciousness. The expressive power of sound architecture breaks with any form of transcription of reality to focus on the expression of a fabulous universe where color and rhythm constitute an expiration that gives voice to exaltation !!!!

It is really amazing how the audience is so cold. They almost gave no applause to an absolutely fantastic performance by Colombian conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada. Incredible.

I agree ! a dreadful reaction ! It could be that all the detail was lost in the corridor of the Nave. Only the front few rows could have really heard it, but I don't think they were listening ! If the Frankfurt come to the Henry Wood Proms they will get a propper reception !

Glorious. Magical. For some reason the audience didn't get it - fools ! This would have got Prommers cheering for twenty minutes! I have heard just one even more splendid performance - Simon Rattel let his percussionist really reproduce the natural sound of thunder at a performance in Nottingham over thirty years go.Other than that - this was perfect - such ensemble playing, the accuracy was stunning. I hope to hear this orchestra and conducter at the RAH !

Estraordinary performance: Every detail has been marvelously played . . . At my taste, at the "Marche au supplice" I would have chosen a more slow introduction of the Clarinete and used a more "claustrophobic" bell at the introduction of the Scaffold . . . Wonderfull accellerato at the end BRAVO !

There is often a marked difference in audience response at the end of a piece between European and American audiences. European audiences are usually much more sensitive to a conductor than U.S. audiences. European audiences frequently wait to applaud until the conductor's baton is lowered, or the conductor indicates in some way that the "magic of the moment" must not be dispelled by an insensitive audience. Thus Claudio Abbado's peerless performance of Mahler's 9th in Lucerne in 2010 was followed by 2 mins. 15 secs. of silence before the applause began. Abbado appeared to be in a trance; it was surely a unique occasion. This is in strong contrast to the behaviour of U.S. concert-goers, who almost always begin immediately to applaud wildly, leap up, and frequently utter whistles, shrieks, hoots, or other offensive noises intended to convey appreciation but are (in my opinion) inappropriate and certainly undignified. Russian audiences sometimes begin rhythmical clapping, which I find especially irritating.

POR EXEMPLO: COM ELA, BERLIOZ RESOLVEU O IMPASSE CRIADO POR BEETHOVEN COM SUAS NOVE SINFONIAS. BERLIOS CRIOU ENTÃO, A SINFONIA PROGRAMÁTICA; OU SEJA ELA TEM UM PROGRAMA PRÉ-DETERMINADO. CRIOU A IDÉIA FIXA QUE CARACTERIZA UM PERSONAGEM DO PROGRAMA. WAGNER ROUBOU ESSA IDÉIA DE BERLIOZ E A COLOCOU EM SEUS DRAMAS MUSICAIS. MAS A MÚSICA DESSA SINFONIA É FEIA E NÃO TEM SENTIMENTOS DE AMOR ROMÂNTICO.
