According to some commenters, the new version of Quadlock works with wireless charging. I’ll need to test that out! Their cases have been great for me in the past.

I’ve been using quad lock since the iPhone 8. I’ve never had any issues with it not charging wirelessly. I’ve changed my phone every night for years. Plus I like how I can use the circle to center it when I’m using the phone 1 handed. I’m on the 13 pro max, so it’s a chonker.

Strava is not really that useful for mountain bikers. I use it for road rides to track my estimated calories burned, estimated power output, estimated times. A free way to track metrics, if you care about improving your performance. I don't want to spend money on a power meter nor a "health" watch, and i don't even have a strava subscription.

I have the quadlock because it comes with the option for a universal mount and can easily be removed and attached with just one hand. The fidlock and mous cases looked like you'd need two hands to remove them. Is that the case? Quadlock also comes with cases for way more phones than mous does (mous seems to only produce iPhone cases).

In 2011 Adidas bought Five Ten. In 2017 they rolled Five Ten into the Adidas Outdoor Brand. In 2018 Ride Concepts was formed. From the RC "about us" page, they're the outcasts that Adidas thought they could do without. That's why RC shoes address almost every shortcoming of Five Ten.

There is a very similar thing happening with five ten climbing shoes (where they started out). They dumped a load of their models and the new ones are getting some flak and a group of the old designers have jumped ship to set up Unparallel shoes.

iPhones have moving lenses in their cameras for the stabilization. Any of these 2 phone mounts can break that mechanism in a rock garden or jumping. I know because it happened to me. Keep your phone in a pocket on you, where your body provides it with better suspension. If you want Trailforks maps and/or ride recording on your handlebar - Garmin Edge is the robust way to go.

Mous phone cases are insanely protective, the fidlock doesn't seem to offer much in terms of protection. Mouse primarily does phone cases, so they know about protection. Good choice Seth 👍 On a second note I have a mous case currently, and it's been great. I dont have the bike mount case since apparently they don't do that for Samsung yet🤷‍♂️, but I've dropped my phone an absolute ton since I got the regular case over a year ago, and my phone is as good as new.

@@acmhfmggru that is simply not true. Lithium batteries can be permanently damaged if left depleted. Similar case if left fully charged over time, the battery will start to degrade over time. I built a manual trainer as a lockdown project, and i loved it ! I was using it to do some small 5 mins training, just put a helmet on and lift that front wheel. I could've just done in the street (well not during lockdown but still), but that would've meant fully gearing up ... The manual trainer was a good way to store my bike, and have some fun while improving manual/balance skills, so i wouldn't say there's useless

They offer multiple mounting options, and they also sell a protective water resistant case if you want more protection for your phone than the SKS case offers. P.S. May we all be so fortunate to own enough property to build a trail system. Until then, maybe some people actually do have a need for indoor training tools.

Amazing how much better Fidlock is than everyone else in their category. Love my water bottle and their chin strap on my TLD helmet is a game changer. So simple, so perfect.

Those phone cases look great! Like Seth I haven't gone to a quadlock because of the case with the bit sticking out. As a landscaper, the Mous with the holes in the case would let dirt in and I'd forever be cleaning it out. I don't use a wireless charger as I'm usually using my phone while it's charging so I think the other one will be fine.

Those rc slides are so cool! I met a ride concept rep at my local bike shop and he gave me a t shirt so that was cool. Hopefully they get those I’ll wear them riding my 29” bmx.

You need to check out the sp connect phone case and holder. Incredibly polivalent, has mounts for everything, a very low profile case, and the top cap mount is absolutely minimal

i have had a mous case over 2 phones for like 4 years now. holy CRAP the drop protection is insane. one time i slammed my phone down on the counter (i know i shouldn't) and it bounced onto my ceramic kitchen tiles. it was completely fine. i can preach it

I don’t mountain bike as a rule, BUT was very impressed by the product presentation! Very informative. Very nice delivery…I’d buy a clunker on the back lot from ya!

my one problem with mounting your phone to your bike is that if its too good, it could be dangerous for your phone. I once had a really solid mount, and when i fell hard, my phone stayed on my bike. However, that meant all the energy from the fall traveled to my phone and it actually broke on the inside (the screen ribbon ripped). Its kind of like downhill skis, you want them to attatch to your feet strongly, but if you fall you don't want them to stay on

You should really take a look at the peak design bike mount. By far the best option out there with all metal construction, flat case, magnetic and super strong mechanical mount, and a whole ecosystem of other mounts. definitely more expensive than the competition, but i love mine!

The RC sandals seem to be perfect for bike(park)-camping trips. Not for the real riding but for the afternoon/evening. Ideal for going to the bike wash station or perhaps a supermarket and being able to play around a little on the way or mabye a spontaneous wheelie challenge if you feel like it. I really like to wear sandals for a while after a day of wearing bike shoes and grant my feet some air and these look like they can handle rough terrain such as gravel parking lots (which doubles as camp ground at my local bikepark) e.g. quite well.

Quadlock sell their own preparatory wireless chargers. A waterproof version (boats and motos etc) and a standard internal one (desk, car etc). I already have 2 cars, moto, 3 bikes, desk etc all fitted out with quadlock kit, because it was the best there was, as you said, and i'm not too fussed by the slight protrusion in the case. But overall love the performance and quality. I really like how cool that fidlock one is. The other one looks like it'll just get too much gunk in the little groves too easily....
