Henrys Jiu Jitsu is amazing, it’s on another level. I’ve taken 7-8 private lessons with Henry and all I can say is he will Blow Yer Mind. Ps I’ve felt Henrys side control pressure and it is Absolute Death. Great Course

I am new to Jiu Jitsu and after couple of months tried to emulate many teaching methods and Henry's was the one that is easy to understand and works really well. I am amazed how effective it is. Side control was the most successful move that I have learnt from Henry and it is becoming my signature move 🙂

The details at 2:31 and “popping the elbow at 1:58 are crucial. Otherwise they just frame and have a super easy escape where they can reverse the position…. Don’t ask how i found that out…

2-stripe white belt here. I got 2 taps this morning on different guys with this side control. Once with the choke on a 1-stripe white belt heavy weight and once with the Americana on a 3-stripe white belt light weight. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Henry’s details add so much pressure from the side control. The way he pushes and pulls with his feet is fantastic! Biggest thing for me is keeping my weight to the same side of my legs just across his pec so I don’t get rolled.
@Dwebster02032 жыл бұрын
Gut your oppents body into four quarters when you are in this position you wanna apply pressure to the top two quarters mainly the quarter closest to you it's called 3 point pressure used alot in judo I just recently started teaching judo at a bjj academy and they all talk about my pressure it's something taught in judo learned it back in the late 1980s

I have bought a lot of courses from Henry on his personal website and other instructors here on bjj Fanatics and I have to say that he like so many instructors need to have follow up instructionals or a question and answer session because their first instructional leaves so many unanswered questions to make the first instructional practically useless. For example, there are guard retention instructionals by big name instructors where they will show you all their so called amazing techniques but when you go on the mat you get passed and smashed because these instructors leave a lot of details out and they don’t show what to do about the what if’s that will arise.

I saw a very ancient description of a specific Jiu Jitsu style that i can’t recall which has Henry’s position with the hand against the head in multiple poses (side control, mount, etc). I never understand why. Perhaps Henry is reinventing these positions. PS. If you look closely, Henry’s hip is OFF the ground so ALL his weight is transferred into Bernardo. It triples the pressure on Bernardo. Very subtle.

I never was told about breathing muscles being or getting tired, i know obviously that you want to tire them out by putting your weight on them but never thought about tiring them by putting my weight on them and making them breath with my weight on them, i guess i was doing it sort of but not knowing. hmmm very interesting.
