Beautiful melodies and several, monotonous rhythm changes. How can this be ambient (like Brian Eno)? This is spaced out, sequencer driven slow electronic music that hardly works in the background like Eno's worst washing machine style ambience. This is by way of KS at his best in the mid-70s, and Hamburg based Sky Records during their heyday, circa 1976-87, like Frenchie Serge Blenner's early work (he moved to Hamburg and turned ambient...), Adelbert von Deyen, Wolfgang Riechmann, Atomkraft et al, and Spanish Neuronium (more ambient when under his own name, Michel Huygen). Or try Yank Michael Garrison from the deep forests (with huge Mary Jane crops and serious men with big guns...) of Oregon, who made some classic space electronic music ('In the Regions of Sun Return') similar to Bernd Kistenmacher on old synthi before he buried his problems in booze some 20 years ago. 🤔

@@kurttoogs1378: Robert Schröder/Schroeder's first albums (from 1979) were more than decent, Kubenschnitt is great. Drummer and keyboardst (just like Klaus Schulze...) Harald Großkopf's 1980 'Synthesis' is a "must have" album, as well as the three early Rolf Trostel albums 1981-82 come highly recommended. And I bought three LPs in 1978-82 with Italian Giuseppe "Baffo" Banfi's (previously - and later - in prog rock group Biglietto per l'Inferno ["Ticket to Hell'] who released a selftitled, minor classic "Italo Prog" in 1974, and made a comeback in 1992). KS wrote the sleeve notes on his 1978 debut, 'Galaxy My Dear' (LP only until it was reissued on CD in 2005), and when KS founded I.C. (Innovative Communication) music label in 1979, its 3rd release was Baffo Banfi's 2nd solo album 'Ma, Dolce Vita'. And the 1981 'Hearth' was also released on I.C. after which nothing happened, except that Banfi joined Biglietto per l'Inferno for their comeback that resulted in three albums 1992-2015. The very same year he released another electronic music album with Matteo Cantaluppi ('Frontera'), his first in 34 years, although he'd released 'Musique Intemporel' in 1998 with Mario Schönwälder (another German, electronic musician as well as founder and owner of Manikin Records) and yes, Bernd Kistenmacher... I must mention a German electronic duo (most are solo artists/studio rats with the most famous exception being, of course, Tangerine Dream) by the name Software (Peter Mergener/Michael Weisser) whose 17 albums 1985-98 were te most hi-tech electronic music you could lsten to some 25-40 years ago. Incredibly beautful compositions (sometimes with vocals), heavily sequencer driven, electric music that still give me gooseumps at times, 39 years after i bought their first LP 'Chip-Meditation' (1985). If you like ambient, there's more than Eno (like the 70s Eno Moebius Roedelius/Cluster & Eno, with two albums also on Sky in Hamburg), there's all the Japanese guys (three out of which died in 2003) - who were forrunners in what they called "Environmental Music" in the 70s (minimalistic synthi, bamboo flutes, Tibetan bells an field recordings of water from muntain creeks, rain and ocean waves). Nothing like (Isao) Tomita's electronic renditions of European mainly 19th century classic music in the 70s and early 80s - or my favourite; Kitaro (formerly of Japanese electronic progressive/psychedelic rock band Far East Family Band in the mid-70s, led by Fumio Miyashita, one of those who died too young in 2003). With his sometimes bombastic (à la Vangelis...), but mostly electronic "new age" music, his use of odd instruments and his mix of ambient tracks and heavy rhytmic electronic rock with huge taiko drums he builds up crescendos, sometimes composed for Hollywood movies like Oliver Stones Vietnam trilogy ('Platoon', 'Born on the 4th of July' and 'Heaven and Earth', the latter for which Grammy Winner Kitaro wrote the music. It all started with the Cinese/Japanese TV series 'Silk Road' (1980) though, for which Kitaro released four LPs of music all seen as favourites among his fans (inl. myself...).
