how did you piece the butterfly? Applique the scallop pieces?

We just simulated a half square triangle on a background piece and pieced a 4 patch.

I have a Bernina 780, purchased from a shop that is no longer in business. For some reason, my foot #34C has quit working on the 780, though I know I've used it with this machine. (I get an error message that says I have the wrong foot, though I've entered it correctly in the machine). Is it possible that this #39C foot is the new equivalent? I purchased the #34C for use on my previous machine, the Bernina 200. I appreciate so much the online presence you have (loved the recent time travel to the old 830!! :D), and would purchase this foot from you if I need to... I'm out of state. Can I do that?

Hi Yvonne, the #34C is the clear version of a #1C. It should deffinitesly work on your B 780. I need to know the exact error message that you are getting to explain that issue further. The #39c is meant for decorative stitching (notched out to glide Ofer decorative stitching) and to do the example from the video. In addition the #39c has a hole for cording (similar to the #6 foot) but with 9mm capabilities. Unfortunately we cannot ship BERNINA products.

@@BERNINAofNaperville Thank you so much for your prompt answer. The error message was the little video that tells me I have the wrong foot. It's come up before when I forgot to inform it I'd changed feet. However, in this case I HAD changed the foot name. I'll just have to use #1C till I can find a dealer to take a look at my machine. We have one 20 miles from here, but I don't trust their repair dept. We live close enough to Columbia, maybe (we live between St. Louis and Columbia, MO) to try a shop there. I hope you don't mind me continuing to watch your informative videos.

@@yvonnestreeter2820 you can use the 34C just tell it you have the 1C. Also is your dual feed mechanism partially down or falling? This could be the cause of the issue too

This particular example can also be performed with a #6 embroidery foot since it also has the little hole for holding the cording.

I have xj1 brother machine and they have letters on them

Please contact your local Brother Dealer to see if there is a foot equivalent. We only sell BERNINA and bernette machines which means I can not help you with your Brother sewing machine.
