You’ve taught me so much. I own 2 Bernina‘s, and a wack of feet! With next to no sewing experience, I am so comfortable both of my machines. It is mostly due to all the time that you’ve put into sharing these videos. Thank you!

Thank you Gayle! I fully understand my #18 button foot and will be back here to learn about more feet. Your video was so helpful to someone with little sewing experience.

I just love your videos Gayle! Thank you for making learning so entertaining. I'm new to all of this and it's hard to be a beginner at anything. I love that you don't assume we know all the prerequisites to whatever new thing you're teaching. My son found a Bernina Artista 200/730 at a thrift store for $14. I had never heard of Bernina and had no idea what a treasure he found so it sat in a closet for more than a year. I finally decided to give it a try. My first video ever was your how to properly clean your Bernina tutorial. After cleaning and oiling it I grabbed a scrap piece of fabric and gave it a try. It works perfectly. One year later I have an entire sewing and craft studio in my basement with my Bernina as the crowning glory. I bought the embroidery unit and about 20 different feet off Facebook Marketplace and I'm slowly learning how to use it all. Your videos help me so much! Thanks so much and Happy New Year!

Thank you Gail. I use tiny bit double sided wash away to hold button in place before sewing… holds it in place & works a treat!

Thank you for this video. I “broke” my button foot. Thought dealer showed me that you lift tongue up for regular buttons. I see now that was wrong. No wonder this happened but now I have one for eyelets!!!❤

Gayle thank you so very much for making all your wonderful, informative and user friendly tutorial videos. You are helping me to better operate, navigate and enjoy my 570QE that i bought two years ago and haven’t taken full advantage of. Thank you and please keep them coming. Can you do a video on leather? Or have you? Like for making leather moccasins or bags? Thank you! I know this machine will make sewing tougher materials like leather that i used to sew by hand, not a thing of the past

This has been very helpful. Since I’m a custom bra maker and on occasion I have to make hook and eyes closure to make a bra rather than using a purchased one. I will add that removing the tongue on the foot was the final step to getting it perfect. I need to line up 9 eyes on one side. I have found that 3M medical tape can be used line them to hold the eyes on and stitched and they will stay exactly in line and the tape has little holes which make it really easy to remove all the residual tape.

Hi Gayle! Thanks for the detailed video. These are so close that I can see just what I see when I try it on my own machine! FYI: I watched another video today that showed the tongue on the foot can be loosened, then swung vertically until it is totally out of the way, rather than buying another foot and removing one tongue. I didn't try that variation with the crystals or the hooks and eyes though.

I’ve seen that, but I don’t trust it because I’ve had that slip before and pose a potential issue. But thanks for the tip.

You could probably sew on sequins, or a bead through the little holes, then wiggle the bead into place? Love your videos!

you are amazing. I thought button sewing would be boring but you made me even rewind and watch some parts twice :) Is it possible to sew 4 holes button with a cross pattern? I think I'll try it.

Since we can create "stitches" on the 880 Plus, would it be possible to create the cross stitch on the four-hole buttons with the feed dogs up? I know we could do it in two steps just the way it is done on two-hole buttons and one-hole bling, but the cross-stitching would not be intertwined as it is when a button is sewed on by hand or in a manufacturing situation where a special machine is most likely used. Thank you ever so much for your videos - they open up so many ideas for creative sewing projects!

I use scotch tape to secure the button in place before placing it under the foot. Remove it after sewing the button on. No fuss or fiddling.
@BERNINAofNaperville

I do not endorse this method as the adhesive on scotch tape tends to gum up the seeing machine needle
@knitmonger
@knitmonger 2 жыл бұрын
@@BERNINAofNaperville You're right that there are some cello tapes that would gum up the needle, but I've had success using 3M matte finish Magic tape with no gummy residue on my machine needle. It's what works for me because I have a difficult time trying to correctly position buttons under the foot so that they're in the right place. I enjoy your enthusiasm and your videos.
