I wish I could spend a year by your side in your workshop just to learn from you. I find you an amazing man. Easy to listen to as well.

Thanks for the shout out (and braving my surname - well done)! I've learned a lot from your videos and have referred back to them often when troubleshooting my Husqvarna and Lotus. It's really generous of you to share your expertise, and your videos are great, so I think it's only fair to chip in :)

@Felipe Rowen I would suggest FlixZone. Just google for it =)

Would you show us how to do a capacitor replacement? (Some of us are hesitant with electronics, but wish to develop those skills.)

Thanks for this good video with details of this machine. I have got the Bernina 910, and I have seen videos of the 930 as well. It seems that the 900 got the "old style" universal motor with an electronic triac controller. I think it is similar to the 830 electronic. I am just a little puzzled by the three wires to the pedal (it is not just two wires, as the 910 have got). Do the Bernina Nova 900 have an extra function build in to the pedal? It seems that the basic mechanics of the 900 and 910 is very similar, but the controls for the embroidery stitches are a bit different. The 910 and 930 got a DC motor with permanent magnets and some more advanced electronics for it with RI compensation, so the speed becomes less sensitive to load changes.

Thank you for the videos. Watching here in America. Just purchased an 801 which was certified pre owned from a local sew dealer. Very excited to get it delivered.

Thanks. I'm sure you'll enjoy the 801.

I have a question. Would you recommend sewing leather with the Bernina 801. If not, what machine would you recommend ? I am basically looking for a great all around machine to go from tulle to leather. Thank you. I apologize if video was done on this already. Thank you.

@@InStitches I had a cat that lived a long life and some sort of dementia took hold of her eventually and she would stand, as if lost, and let out the oddest wails. It was heartbreaking but if you spoke her name she would get out of it.

So where do you get the capacitors chanted? Did a Bernina dealer do it or is it something we can order? What about the machines that have issues with running to fast?
@InStitches4 жыл бұрын
The capacitors are available from most electronics suppliers. They can be removed and installed with a soldering iron. A shorted capacitor can sometimes cause the motor to run on (by itself).

@@InStitches Hello! I have tried to locate the capacitor for the foot pedal as per your previous videos on Bernina foot pedals and thought it may translate to the Nova, however I have opened the pedal up and no board inside.... is the board on the machine as per this video the capacitor I should be changing? The problem is the pedal literally goes 0-60 in 1 second! Also can I just check it's a 0.01uF capacitor please? Please don't think I know what I'm talking about as I have learned everything from your videos!! Thank you so much for your amazing instruction - saving so many machines from landfill. I have inherited this machine from my Mum who passed away last year and can't afford to get it professionally looked at. Thank you! x

Hi I just picked up a Nova 900 from the recycle at our local dump for $5 it looks amazing..however when I put my foot on controller it started to sew then just stopped. Following your video checked capacitor it’s already been replaced . Is there possibly another something we need to look at. Can you please tell me what capacitor you bought to replace the original. Love your videos and look forward to your reply. Cheers

Thanks for your videos. I just got a Bernina Nova, Berninas in my country are really hard to find. Mine looks like was never used. The machine its working great, i open it and I found out that the capacitor was blown out. I will try to find someplace where i could find one. My question is, can i still use the machine without it?
@InStitches Жыл бұрын
I think you should be able to use the machine if you remove the blown capacitor bits. Thanks.

Very informative vido, thank you. A question, You talk about the US models being 110V. Would it be possible to just swap out the motor in a US model or would other components need to be changed to make it work on 240V?
@InStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi. I would say the circuit board may need changing as well. Thanks.

Thank you for the nice videos. I have the exact same machine. It used to work so i must be doing sth wrong but i dont know what... i can sew; the top looks ok, the bottom looks all messed up. Do you have a hint for me? Thank you !
@InStitches3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Often when you see issues on the bottom, it can be the top thread too loose, but not always.
