@@DrMecha True, but one can always contend that VN can be complimented with Anime/manga which can "show" more but VN certainly are better at feeling the plot and characters. With Higurashi I read chapter (arc) of VN then watched associated anime episodes. I started to do the same with Umeniko.

That's because it's symbolic that she was a part of Rika at one point and shaped by the multiple tragedies. That's actually some Dragon Ball Z Piccolo type of explanation. Given that he was described as separating from Kami from seeing all the evil in the world, well, that would actually be King Piccolo more than Piccolo. Well, at least that's how to explain that in Dragon Ball Z, and they're explaining the same thing technically here. They actually did explain Piccolo similarly, I remembered so ironically similar.

Higurashi SotsuGou spoilers: Be warned! I have a feeling the Onigari no Ryuoou (or however it's spelled) shard is going to separate Rika from Bernkastel, maybe even Satoko and her witch self. Episode 8 of Sotsu is leaning towards Umineko now that Eua has confirmed that Satoko is a witch. Edit: didn't happen umichads, instead, we got the iconic parting ways scene but Rika and satoko.

the series deal with a variety of beings who are higher dimension and in effect view lower dimensions as fiction, these beings can create avatars on lower dimensions which they can control. bernkastke is one of these higher dimensional beings and want to lose a game/die to get rid of her boardom and in this game she acts as a villain but it can be taken that she is a nice individual in actuality.

Umineko's anime is really not the best, the VN and the manga are the best ways to read this masterpiece ! I personally think the manga is excellent and adds precision to some details, though the VN has amazing musical piece, but it's like 100+ hours of reading so yeah it's very long
