I discovered B-12 from watching Vice Grip Garage and I have to admit that it works amazing! I mistakenly left my two big snowblowers with the fuel turned on all year long between winters. They both went from always starting on the first pull, to not starting at all. In fact I could only get them to run if I used the electric start and would only keep running if fully choked. I dumped an entire can of B-12 in each one and let them run. After about 20 minutes they started coughing and chugging, I realized they needed the choke opened up. I let them run another 20 minutes and they're like new! They both start on the first pull again!

I wonder if dumping the old fuel. Putting fresh fuel from the pump, not what's left sitting in a fuel can. Wonder how that would have worked.
@TroyT11 ай бұрын
Simple answer. NO. experience one 30+ years ago. Dad poured seafoam into a boat motor that sat over the winter with oxygenated fuel in it (back when it first came out). Motor ran full choke, wide open throttle, barely running. Ran around lake for a half hour, and came home purring. I grabbed the can, read what it claimed(sounded like snake oil salesman) but came to understand later that in some cases can dissolve the varnish. Never used B12, but might be similar. My experience... FYI: commercial aircraft mechanic a&p, federal licensed. Ain't no punk kid whippersnapper.
@gssmith1986 Жыл бұрын
Berryman's B-12 is is about 90% acetone & 10% toluene. Only use it when you're gonna burn up the whole tank of gas pretty quick (long trip). It does work, but if left in a seldom used vehicle, it will dissolve plastic, rubber, etc. I made the mistake of putting this religiously in a seldom used bronco and I ended up having to replace the fuel tank (plastic lining dissolved), replaced the float (completely gone), fuel filter (media shrunk to where it was filtering nothing), vent grommet (completely shrunk) and other assorted problems. I will still use it, but only when it goes in & then out, in short order. I did hook up a fuel injector cleaning apparatus and run a 2006 chevy silverado off it for one can, and the truck ran MUCH better; so it works well. But just take my advice.

A few years ago I bought an '02 Hyundai with a the 3.5L Sigma V6 with only 48K on it. I got it from a widower who said it was his wife's car. Great condition with very little corrosion for here in New England. It had likely sat in a garage for long stretches. Quite a bit of sludge came out which I removed by replacing a quart of oil with MMO (Marvel Mystery Oil) for 500 miles. Next change about 1/4 can of Seafoam in the oil for 100 miles, then a flush on the next change. This cleaned things up gently and thoroughly. I continued to get a check engine light for the evaporative emission system, indicating replacement of the solenoid. I bought the part, but continued for awhile to just reset the code. I tried a can of B12 and noticed that the light came on less. Two more cans later and it has yet to return!! Note that thousands of miles with MMO in the gas didn't do this. My bet is that the solenoid was sticking from crud and the B12 freed it. The car may well have had stale gas at some point. I've used it two ways. Put a can in a full 18.5 gallon tank and let it soak over time to clean the whole fuel system, or add it to 1/4 tank or so before a long trip to burn through more concentrated levels for the injectors, plugs and carbon. I've heard suggestions that while effective, B12 shouldn't be overused as it has solvents that can be hard on plastic parts and gaskets. Any thoughts? Looking forward to your MMO review!!

I've used it as a high concentration cleaner as well, and it does help when used that way, but It isn't recommended as it can eat up rubber seals if used pure.

I'm referrng to higher than recommended doses of it. From my experience it is true when you have an older vehicle with plastic on the pre-filter it can cause it to get brittle and end up stopping up the fuel pump. I've seen guys on KZbin run their motor solely on this. And I have had eat right through a primer bulb trying that on a weed eater there are two different things you want gas additive to do and that's clean the rings and clean the injectors. I've seen the engine with mystery oil before and after and there is absolutely no difference almost no reason to use this at all and as far as seafoam it's naphthalene and it it's trying to free the rings up and make the rings move freely it's really not an instantaneous thing like acetone of the berrymans. Put berryman's in a plastic cup and put seafoam in a plastic cup and see which one lasts the longest. So in some cases it is true that's why I mentioned it. Most of these things are gimmicks there's already tons of cleaners in gas to begin with. They're required to have them in there because it dissolves varnish and gunk that forms on the rings that lowers your compression. Some of things that I've seen were improved compression or seafoam restore and berryman's I like berrymans but it's a lot hotter than the rest of like I said try to come experiment. Berryman's eats right through it I know parts are stronger than plastic cups but it just gives you a sense of what it can do to some things.

I use B12 once a month in my tank. It looks to be working well for my 2012 F-150 and 2012 GMC Terrain SLE. Should I use an additive to my oil?

So, do you add a few ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil along with a can of this B12 to each tank of fuel?
@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs Жыл бұрын
Marvel? Yes. I only use Barrymans once every 5K.

I'm a fleet mechanic .... and he is correct ... "B-12" does work ... it is also the only product with a "poison" label on it ...

When I run B12 Chemtool in the fuel of my vehicles it makes it feel like you added 30hp… nothing else makes my vehicles run as good as Berryman. Seafoam, BG44k, Redline, Techron…. I’ve used them all but Berryman B12 is the best and the cheapest at only $3 or less per bottle….

good point on feeling like there is a bit more HP

Hey there....just bought some at Walmart...they're asking $4.98 a bottle. Do you mind saying where you found it for $3? That would sure help. Thank. Jesus bless.

@@sandrarichardson2713 Hey! Ah they used to be just $3 per can at Walmart, but it has gone up like everything else lately. Amazon had them for just $3-$4 a few months ago but now they’re asking a lot more too.

B-60 High Mileage is even more powerful than B-12. I'd like to see that versus BG44K

Seafoam is for two stroke engines. It does not belong in any modern engine with O2 sensors, computers etc.

I like to tinker and fix on my engine rather than giving it cancer juice.
@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs2 жыл бұрын
Cancer Juice? B12 works in a way that "Tinkering" won't cure. Unless tinkering means replacing injectors, and pulling cylinder heads to decarbonize valves and piston heads.
