I am very optimistic about nu-Berserk. Even from just the start of the studio taking over, the art has improved from their first two chapters and honestly going off of the current chapter, it feels damn near close to an older Miura style. I'm super happy with what Mori and the team are doing, and am so excited to see what comes next.

I’m really glad that still after all these years guts is getting character development. With his two purposes in life gone, that is, protecting casca and killing Griffith, he no longer has a reason to fight and swing his sword cause what’s the point if it was all for nothing. We have never seen guts like this

he is upset that his sword couldnt do anything to Griffith that's why he is like that. His sword has been the one certainty in everything, his ability to hit his enemy. Now he cant even do that, so it's all been pointless. He thinks he wont be able to get his revenge at all. That is what I took from it.

I assumed phasing into the astral world was sort of like going invisible, but walking in a different plane of existence where you can see the physical yet the physical cannot interact with you. Would be cute, once everything is resolved, to find out that Isma kept following the gang along even if they couldn't see or hear her.

Anyhow yeah, I figured the spirit trees were something the likes of "areas of influence" of the astral world. Like a locational interstice which allows some superficial layers of the astral world to manifest in our reality. That would explain the influence of the island's huge tree and the fact that the World Tree Griffith bore out of Ganishka's ass pretty much encompassed most of the world. Maybe Griffith wants to eliminate all other spirit trees such as the Island's not due to the witches but so he can actually monopolize all the influence of the astral world on the physical one. He basically owns the main gate, and wants to get rid of all the side side entries so he can have all variables under his control. All of this would mean that the astral world didn't exactly merge in their entirety, but that the World Tree set up an entry or zone of influence of such magnitude that it encompasses most if not all of the world. Maybe he wants to literally gatekeep some astral beings from hanging out in the physical world while letting other more vile ones go about their business, all so he can look even better. This would also explain why he would destroy spirit trees that let more benign beings roam free.

Guts has always been a favorite character of mine growing up and now as an adult I feel he is a character that I myself can relate to not going ahead and feeding my own. Beast of darkness. I've been suffering with my own demons in my life like everyone in life. But I just want to say thank you for breaking down every single struggle and life changing event that had happened in the Manga so far.

@@kye698 Oh, I didn't mean that Berserk copied FMA. I meant that FMA sort of follows a similar concept as Berserk where there's a "Father" and the minions being the Godhand/Homoncului.

I constantly worry what they will do with Casca. I think it's best to have her reserve herself for Guts & deny any advance from Griffin. She needs to show how she has grown as a character as well, even including her mind breaking apart & rebuilding. But let's be honest, she moved off from Griffin & even decided after his rescue she would journey with Guts as his woman. Then the eclipse happened & her hatred of Griffin for destroying the Band of the Hawk & breaking Guts as well. This will obviously provoke Griffins new secret admirer. I feel we're going to find in the next coming chapter(s) the curse on Casca's heart is Femto's doing & it will be still active now until Guts can break it. Clearly that would screw with Femto & possibly set up a chance for Guts to beat him again. It would be a clear road to Gut's victory when his sword is useless for now.

My guy. We have very similar taste, i absolutely love all the classic shonens like Yu Yu Hakusho, Kenshin, Hunter Hunter etc. berserk etc. i got a good shonen recommendation for ya - D.Gray Man. I dont expect that ya actually get into it but thought i throw it out there. Its one of those hiatus series but at first it seems like a standard battle shonen (not in a bad way) but shifts into something greater. (Its more of a mystery/thriller and a bit horror-ish) much love brudda ✌🏼

I read the whole Manga recently and the new chapters seem to be missing dialogue. The art work is great but nothing has been said really, we arent getting anyone thoughts or anything. it feels rushed as well. like oh there Griffith, he can't get hurt, island destroyed, guts sad. That should have taken more chapters.

@@JohnSmith-mc2zz Well said. I knew there was something on my mind about these new chapters, but I think you put it nicely what I felt like was missing as well. These details mentioned I feel are so important to what made Berserk special. It's tough to try to put your mind into the head of a master and emulate his work through him, so I feel for the Berserk team. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt and words of encouragement, given the circumstances placed on them. Even still, I still hope moving forward that they try their best to remember the most important elements of Berserk. We have to remember that Mori said he doesn't have a rough draft, only cliffnotes in his mind from his talks with Miura. So it's going to be necessary for the team to take many artistic liberties with Berserk when making new chapters.

I mean, compare it to other random mirua chaoters, and in terms of character development and story, a lot has happend Casca is gone, guts couldn’t achieve the things he fought for his whole life, protecting casca and Griffith, meaning he doesn’t have the will to continue and fight anymore cause what’s the point? The island was destroyed Guts and Griffith fought showing us that guts can’t land a single blow on Griffith This all happens in only 7 chapters, and some of the chapters where only 16 pgs at that

Your lack of attention doesn't mean there is a lack of content. It's been confirmed that Griffith and the moonlight boy share a body. Griffith DOES feel emotions he overrides himself. The island is at a point in the worlds similar to the tower of conviction because the evil entities arise from it. SK referred to it as the original masters meaning they both along with the tower of rebirth share that classification and they are all Temporal junctions in time that he and guts can act outside of causality. This explains how Femto foresaw the sword of actuation, it wasn't a Temporal point in space time so he could manipulate it to his will. It was revealed this HASENT happened before in the past so we are diverting farther and farther from the cycle. Otherwise SK would have been at the ready Puck and Ivalera survived the merging while isma did not. We don't know why that is outside of guessing that its the link to humans that keeps them bound to the physical world. This is a mystery still to be solved. Guts outclasses zodd in combat now. Without activating the armor was able to run past transformed Zodd without even swinging at him. Griffith chooses how reactive the brand is to evil. Otherwise Casca would have died being held by him on the ride over. This also shows there is a limit to his power through the brand because otherwise he'd have just killed or at least knocked out Guts in guardians of desire. I'm sure there is more but that's just surface level talking points of the top of my head.

Fempto is utter darkness..and the only time I seen him take any damage is from Rickert. 🤔 Maybe Guts is too steeped in his own darkness to deal damage. What if Rickert can make a weapon for Guts using fairy powder or whatever that’s pure, to harm Fempto? Rickert was pure, steadfast and sure in his actions towards Griffith.
