I think on the topic of Isidro, he serves as a link from guts life as a child soldier to now. You see guts gives Isidro a lot of advice about surviving on the battlefield despite being a child. Seeing how difficult Isidro finds battle reminds the reader that oh yeah, guts must have been a badass even as a kid. Then there's the whole guts having a student and taking the role of a teacher, which is kind of cliche but it's there.

That one scene where the slime has cornered all the innocent people and is slowly enveloping them all is pretty traumatic to me. Seeing them all scream for help and not getting any is horrible. A bunch of those people could have been like that mother that stole to get food for her kid and ended up getting tortured. Tons of them were good people that got killed so Griffith could be revived.

Greatest point ever around 12 minute mark. I think that’s the plot since day one. Guts finds himself on the path to throwing away his humanity just like Griffith. In killing Griffith after throwing away his humanity he would be then no different than Griffith.

Underrated characters would be a great video. I also think Mozgus is damn creepy and one of my favorite villains in the entirety of Berserk. I like the twist when he did get divine power but from an evil force, but the closest to a god we know in the world of Berserk. It's an interesting thought, what if there are deities but they're demented as fuck from our perspective.

I think you guys will eat your words because Isidro will also get get his growth in the story, especially since Guts has start training him tho very little so far, i believe after this meeting with Moonlight Boy they story will beginning its final arc. Also just because Isidro doesn't come from the dark world Guts and everyone else is from doesn't mean he is a misplaced character, not everyone needs a tragic story to enter the hell of Berserk.

Also one thing that stands out to me is that Mozgus actually had slivers of good in him, like how he was able to help his executioner servants feel like they had a purpose (well, maybe not so good...he had them kill and torture people lol), but I remember the scene with the bird guy revealing his face and story to be very poignant

Prediction I have, Guts is following SK's path, whats up with SK sword before he gets the behelit sword? maybe some kinda an elven blade or something? what if guts got a new sword thats way smaller and faster, but can cut bad-guys real good? just throwing shit at the wall, but I love the idea of Guts being "super fast" and still devastating. Giving him the ability to strike faster and still cutting apostles. Dunno, anything that can help him not need the berserker armor. He needs to overcome that need to keep up the fight.

The demon fights are badass.. The prostitutes keeping them all alive was a mistake.. isidro and puck are taking away from the brutality and darkness of this arc making it feel like a marvel movie which i cant stand... I feel like berzerk ruined an A+ arc with some of these mistakes.. Its starting to lose its touch here.. Which is such a shame cause the rest of it is so perfect..

This arc is a bit frustrating for me. It has a lot of good things going for it, but a lot of annoying shit I just didn't particularly care for. I agree the Rosine fight was awesome, but I wish it could have lead to more development on Guts or the world. It's almost like a filler arc in that it could be taken out of the story and nothing would change. Farnese is unlikable in her introduction. The idea of a crusader hell-bent on divine justice is interesting, but they made Farnese too vulnerable, incapable, and cowardly. I guess that's why we have Mozgus. Speaking of which... Mozgus had a lot going for him but he was just too ridiculous in some panels. I lost it when his face pruned out and he kills a guy with a bible. Come on. His design when he became a quasi-apostle was also kind of stupid-looking. And he blabbed too much. Not bad ass enough. Nina's story was just depressing as hell. A child prostitute suffering from from STI, scared of both life and death. Gets captured by the basically the Spanish inquisition and subjected to some of the most horrible trauma imaginable. I just felt crappy reading most of the arc to be honest. Too dark and depressing. Griffith's rebirth ceremony felt kind of like a rehash of the eclipse, except nowhere near as impactful. People we don't really know or care about are being sacrificed, and that seems to be more happenstance than anything (a bunch of blob demons came out of Casca and started melting people. Uhhhh okayyyy). The Egg of the Perfect World was more confusing than anything. How did a nobody under a pile of bodies get his hands on a behelit, and why was he so special he became such a specifically-created Apostle that would hatch Griffith in the material world? It's just so... what? It feels contrived. And why did he go around stinging Mozgus and his gang into making them Quasi-Apostles? Seriously, why did he do that? Just to raise hell? It's never actually explained. Better yet, why doesn't Mozgus and his gang even question it? You can't tell me they wouldn't notice being stung in the back of the neck, turn around, and see some egg demon thing and then immediately question what the fuck they were looking at. I'm afraid I'm also going to have to disagree on the art. I think Miura's best art was during the Golden Age, when he actually knew what the colour white was. There he knew how to employ white and black contrasts to highlight important scenes and refresh his panels. Here everything is scratched out into black and greys. It's too much and it becomes exhausting to look at. That's not to say the arc was completely hopeless. There are some bad ass panels in there for sure (Guts saving Casca from Goathead, Guts flinging Mozgus off the top of the tower), and I agree Cracks in the Blade in an amazing chapter. Lucca and Gerome are endearing and believe it or not I actually don't mind having Isidro around. The best part of the arc, however, was Guts' dilemma of having to choose between chasing his revenge on Griffith and saving Casca. I would have loved it if they made more out of that, like maybe give Griffith a sort of momentary incubation period where he is being reborn, and during this period he's vulnerable to being killed once and for all. But as this is happening Casca is about to be burned alive, so Guts has to choose. Sadly they didn't go that route. The overall premise of Griffith coming back to the material world in another ritual is a good one, I just don't agree with its execution. It seemed rushed.

I feel that Isidoro's plucky, positive shonen attitude has nothing to do in Berserk, so every second he's on the page he's ruining the reading experience. However, there is a way to fix him. Miura needs to call up his old friend Donovan.

My issue with Isidro though is he's not acting normal in the context of his world. I'm fine with a plucky kid, but a plucky kid wouldn't look at *an apostle* and treat it as an opportunity to wisecrack. It would help a lot if Isidro was just a bit more serious and had a scene or two where he's actually learning from Guts in a meaningful way. As it stands he's comic relief and very little else.

Im going to be honest i don't really like this this arc. It was so annoying to deal with Mosgus and Farnese as well as their annoying knights. I couldn't watch or read it in depth that much because it was incredibly frustrating dealing with all of the stuff that was going on.
