Couldn’t agree less. He revealed on Rogan that when it first happened he had a plan, and thought it would rocket him to stardom. He said “When it happened I figured I would do Rogan and not miss a beat”, well, he couldn’t have missed more if he tried. Rogan couldn’t care less, and Shane just vanished. I honestly hadn’t heard his name from like a week after it happened, right up until he finally did Rogan, Joe probably got sick of Shane’s ppl calling. He’s just not that funny, if he was, his little plan would’ve worked, but Rogan correctly called that nobody cared, and he isn’t really funny. He’s only now getting traction post Rogan. Look, Berts known him for years, and yet he didn’t even have him on sooner, and instead of getting a Netflix deal, he’s on freaking KZbin man. Netflix gives specials to anyone, hello Hannah Gadsby, but Shane had to use the platform that is free for anyone to use. Sad.

Chappelle, Burr and Louis CK still hold up obviously. Attel and Stanhope are great. But yeah as far as a new young guy, Shane's special truly is the best. I've been saying for a while the funniest guys out right now are Gillis, Tim Dillon and Nick Mullen, that's with no specials, just from podcast work. This is the new wave of funniest guys. Although in my personal opinion Mike "Redbar" David is the funniest of all guys.

Shane Gillis is super-talented and getting canned from SNL was a blessing.
@alexgzbro1012 жыл бұрын
Ya it would have hurt his career probably or just slowed it down. I get that he probably had dreams of being on that show when it was something to be proud about back when comedians would actually benefit and gain an audience for being a cast member on SNL. I could have made the show a little bit better too to have his comedic style on there if he was too right and be on the show but it could have also made him a little bit more censored if he was spending most of his time trying to write and create in that kind of environment where he was limited to certain topics and how to approach if he wants them on AIR

I truly think Joe is just on another level when it comes to his podcast. I would like to believe he is a different person in real life. Obviously I have no idea. I’m just saying. That podcast is literally his life at this point. He takes it very seriously it seems. His podcast isn’t a “performance” podcast like other comedians. He’s not constantly doing bits.
