Hi Beryl, I've made this comment on your videos before but I can only guess you didn't see them. The reason your pot tips over when empty as it does at 0:51 is because you put it on the burner with the handle between the arms of the grate. If you place the pot on the stove top with the handle lined up over one of the grate arms it will not tip over. Alternatively you could fill the pot before placing it on the stove and then the weight of the contents should stop it from tipping regardless of where you position the handle relative to the grate arms. Hope that helps! John
@John_P._Buryiak8 сағат бұрын
That's funny that at 3:58 you speak to the tipping and various bits of advice given by the audience. I guarantee that if you line the handle up with one of the grate arms it will not tip. Yes, adding stuff to the pot will help but where the handle is pointing is the key.
@bettylocks2.07 сағат бұрын
If you line the handle of the pot up with the bars of the stove trivet, it stops it tipping. I have the same issue with pretty much all my smaller pots on my gas hob/stove, and it is because there is nothing supporting the weight of the handle. 😊

I like my Shin noodles with a soft boiled egg and some fried peppers of any kind with onions and some grated ginger. I cook my noodles with barely enough liquid so there isn't broth left over and the noodles stay very firm and I end up with just noodles covered in yoke from the softboiled egg. I always double up the dried vegggie packets as well because my son doesn't like his noodles with the dry veggies!! Lucky me.

But just last week I found a small Indian grocery store near me and they had it for a normal person price. This weekend, since I am in TX, I am going to try marinating some chicken leg quarters in it and putting them on the smoker. 😈 Now I wish you would do a what to buy at an Indian grocery store episode. I went for the Maggi and came home with bags of snacks - some were winners, a couple were NOT 😢 - sweets, and a bunch of cooking ideas.

I want a counter top ice maker. It can be put anywhere that has an outlet (so not necessarily the kitchen - taking up precious space). They don’t require being plumbed in like a refrigerator. I can freeze filtered water. I don’t need to keep it stocked as I don’t need ice often, but when I do I don’t necessarily have freezer space to make ice for several ice trays. They produce a lot of ice quickly. Check this appliance out. BTW it’s time to retire that pot - forever chemicals are leaching into your food with those scratches. I know it’s hard to separate from things when they are the perfect size.

I love the nongshim soon veggie ramen, I do it different though in Scotland. I slice spring onions, cook them in (vegan) flora butter and Korean chilli pepper flakes, then put in garlic powder and cook that, then place it in my bowl. Then I start cooking the vegetable flakes in the same pot I just used, then I’ll put in the soup powder, cook, then pour over the spring onions in my bowl, then cook the noodles in freshly boiled water, drain and put in to my soup, which I then put in a nice big teaspoon of chilli oil, and a little drizzle of toasted sesame oil. It’s delish!

I liked. Fatimas take on changing traditional recipes to suit where you might have grown up. I am culturally German but where I grew up in America some traditional German ingredients were unavailable to us so we due. No bratwurst then hor dogs would do. also, look in your freezer for a panel on one side of the box. underneath this there may be a connection for an icemaker, depending on the brand. love your channel!

I love using instant noodles in soup. I throw out the seasoning packet, use my own homemade broth. The noodles just have a more reliable texture than using regular dried pasta. It's nice for when you're just making a batch that will be eaten immediately. Not so much for a big batch to last you a few days, though. Pasta's your friend there.

Wow so many instant noodle dishes, and all are great! Thanks a lot for that video! I totally love the WaiWai brand which is since many years also available in India. I definitely prefer it over other brands, what might have also to do with the fact that you can eat WaiWai noodles raw or just two minutes after adding water, giving you much more options compared to Maggi etc. Because you mentioned the WaiWai recipe cannot prepared long in advance, yes that is totally possible, there is just a little trick to do it: you prepare everything in advance and keep it in the fridge, and only just before serving you add the WaiWai noodles (and maybe you do the same with the Haldiram mix). It increases even the taste a bit if you keep all these veggies and onions etc. mixed in advance. It is totally up to you what you mix inside, whether mushrooms or a bit of canned corn or radish or Feta or Tuna or small chicken pieces or whatever else you want, it always tastes totally great.

When you position the pot so the handle is over one of the bars of the stove it doesn't tend to fall over then. Put that handle at a 45 degree angle rather than 90 degree and see if that works. I have expensive pots that can happen with if I don't do that.

Ice, for me, is an automatic refill of the trays when I empty them. Part of it is the need for future ice, but also as a way of putting away the ice trays as well. But I also buy ice bags from the supermarket, but that ice is my summer crunch ice. I have only been buying ice bags this summer and last summer, but this summer I have been ordering two bags a week. Yes, I still use the ice trays, as the bag ice is for crunch, I use the trays for tea-making, and pull them out and empty them in the big jug to pour the tea over to cool. Mind you, today's jug of tea was chilled by a block of tea ice - I made a batch of tea (around 2 litres) and shoved it in the freezer. This morning I looked at the fridge and found my orange and passionfruit drink and like 3 quarters was still left in the bottle (I also buy two 3L bottles of Mildura a week) so I filled the big jug with that, so today's batch of tea is just tea and juice-drink.

I found I only ordered one bag of ice this week. We have a predicted day with the power off for maintenance coming up, so maybe if I go light on cool days I can spin it out. (I eat it in 1 litre cup servings, sitting and crunching through it. It crunches easier than home-frozen ice cubes.)

In Sweden, it's at best a rare luxury thing for rich people to have an ice maker built-in in a fridge. I have never seen one in real life in Sweden.
@seemaprasad66775 сағат бұрын
In US any decent sized refrigerator has built in ice makers. Being from India we rarely have ice or ice or ice cold water, even in 100 deg heat. When having to buy a new fridge, I looked for ever to get one without it, with no luck. Luckily I have one that you can shut off the ice maker. It stays shut all year except for the few times we invite people over for dinner. 30+ years in US and I still can't understand the Americans' obsession with ice.
@AlecS-p4b4 сағат бұрын
@seemaprasad6677 I think ice is useful for adding in a towel to put on your body to cool down, but I often get brain-freeze headaches a hard time swallowing if I drink too cold water or suck on an ice cube. Also, your soda gets watered down when you put ice in it and that melts. Not a fan of it. Ice is also good for quickly cooling down atuff when cooling abd baking. But as often or rather seldom as I need ice cubes, I can manage by just using ice cube trays, and freeze water in 50 centiliter plastic bottles for using in a towel and put on my body to cool down during summer. Also, doesn't the extra stuff make the freezer/fridge more expensive than necessary?
