Update: I put a new edge on the Feldspar and have checked it out extensively. No matter how hard I close the knife, it's no longer hitting the standoff, so I'm forced to believe it was an assembly issue and not a tolerance problem.

Taylor, you know the Gerber dime has a pair of tweezers, right? Right next to the bottle opener there is a little tab. You can actually see it when you lay all of the items beside each other on the table near the end of the video. Pull it straight up and they will come out. They aren't great but in a pinch they work. Thanks for all the great content ! Edit.: I just noticed a lot of people have pointed this out. So just thanks for the content instead.

My Feldspar also had a small chip in the blade out of the box. The blade also gained a bit of play after flipping constantly for a few hours. Both of these issues were easily correctable and even after all that I still love it and it is a ridiculous value! 👊🍻

If you let the Rovyvon switched on for more than 3 min in one mode of choice and than switch it of, it will switch on in that mode again afterwards. So if you want it to switch on in moonlight, simply let in burn in moonlight for 3 min and than switch it of.

Man, I got the Feldspar on your recommendation from this video, and I have loved it more than any knife I've purchased so far! The bearing is super smooth, the liner lock is smooth (when using my right thumb) and the ergonomics and open/close action is superb!! Not my favorite shape of all time, but it's nicely done, and I love the tumbled blade. And the price point is just insane for how well made this knife is. Absolutely top notch knife for the price. Thanks!

I got one too, an agree its a great knife, it just doesn't see any pocket time. My three absolute favs are the Kubey Raven, the Spyderco's Amalgam, an the Civivi Praxis, an an honorable is the Kershaw Bareknuckle, all of these fight for the 1st pocket, an the second, as most days I carry two or three knives, an its simply for the love of them, an I wouldnot leave my man cave to go to work without them lol. Wish you well!

The only changes I would suggest are the knife and the flashlight, but the flashlight comes with a couple of caveats. The knife you chose is nice enough, but at the end of the day it's just a pocket knife. D2 more brittle and less corrosion resistant than stainless steel. I would suggest swapping out the single-function D2 pocket knife for a multi-function stainless steel rigging knife, especially if you actually use multi-tools. There are different variants that have shackle keys, can openers, fish scaling tools, etc. If your knife is also for self-defense, the marlins spike on a rigging knife is a formidable stabby weapon... I carry a 10,000 mah battery bank and cable to recharge my cell phone. The companion to that is a small package of LED chips that fit any USB port. I carry a variety of chips, so I have dimmable options and color options if I don't want to attract any attention. I find that's more difficult to achieve if you carry a flashlight that can be seen from a mile away. The battery bank will recharge my cell phone 3 times or run 2 LED chips for 48 hours. Because it's a battery bank, it can run or charge virtually any device that has a lithium battery like hand warmers, sewing machines, grills, drink warmer/coolers, insect repellant devices, etc., etc.. The extra size and weight make it worthwhile if you value the versatility rather than an overpowered light.

@TheRickyaustin7134 жыл бұрын
I was wondering if the blade hitting the backspacer was just an anomaly on my knife. But now looking at yours I think it's a universal problem. It's an awkward problem because once closed, most of the time, the blade is a good distance away from the backspacer and can't really be forced to touch it. It does hit it if closed "hard." I put that in quotations because its not really closing the blade hard it's just a normal close. I was thinking about somehow modding the knife to have it properly stop before it can get hit. If you come up with a solution I'd love to hear it or see you make a video on it.
@TheRickyaustin7134 жыл бұрын
P.S. I have actually had to reprofile this blade from such extensive use, but it still hits the standoff. I've also noticed distance between the blade and the standoff varies from time to time.

The RITR pen is quite nice. I have all the household names of high end EDC pens, but I keep coming back to the RITR. It has never failed to write, and I never worry about loosing it. Some of the others are better writers for sure, but I don't write a lot. And when that $100 pen fails to write when your about to take some crucial notes, you really start to wonder... Now, to be brutally honest, I don't find the way these budget videos are laid out very interesting. It's not that I don't want to know about good budget gear, but the restraints you set for the challenge seems very artificial and unlikely to be a typical scenario. I might be way off here, but I think most people do (or at least should) focus on one item at a time. I think actually focusing on one item at a time, and see how much more you gain in quality ad functionality as you pay up, is a much more interesting, and a more natural scenario. And just might give people even more insight in to where the want to spend more, and where they'll be just as well served with a budget item. Just my $0.05, I'm watching the videos either way ;-)
