Damn what a video! Initially I didn't expect much as didn't watch any of you guys' videos before but wow! A lot of great reviewing here! Especially loved the intro with the assembly of the wheel! The riding bit got a bit monotonnie after a while so I started skipping and after watching about the 30 min mark i clicked off :) One thing I strongly disagree on is Begode beeps - every Begode has a different cutoff threshold in connection with the speed and acceleration you're going. So if You beep youight be already in trouble when you hear it while accelerating hard. In that regard the multiple beep variants on Veteran wheels make it a lot easier to not faceplant on a wheel. Anyhow great content! Keep it up! Oh and pls ride responsibly ✌🏻
@miniwheelmedia Жыл бұрын
Mr.Wrongway himself! Have to say, you are a big inspiration and your opinion is so important to us. So glad you enjoyed the teardown/assembly. Means a lot coming from someone with your knowledge. I agree with you on the beeps... they are warning you too late. Veteran wheels are definitely faster to warn you with spikes/hard accelerations. Im JUST starting to learn about this, but the current control scheme that veteran uses could be a CLOSED loop control scheme, where as Voltage control used by begode is OPEN loop, meaning the wheel will apply power no matter the battery voltage, which can lead to huge sag, and possible cutout, but does give that raw power that we are used to with begode. Again, JUST learning about this. But it could be a factor. Thank you so much for your comment and ride safe!!!💛💛💛

Awesome channel. Chooch just had a major crash after a cutout and was thrown. Battery was fluctuating after 15 minutes going between 2 bars and 3 bars then beeped. Also the suspension broke after a half hours worth of riding. Dangerous at this point.
@miniwheelmedia Жыл бұрын
while we do believe that this model has less battery than it should, I think there is missing information from that incident. Chooch is a very hard rider, and for most people, under most circumstances, this wheel will perform well. Thank you for watching and for the kind words, stay safe and happy riding!! ❤
@matthewearl9824 Жыл бұрын
@@miniwheelmedia the whole reason for that wheel is hard riding. I plan to do the same. He mentioned the circumstances and you saw them in the video. He was going 34 mph. That is not fast at all. I pin my v12HS at 41 to 43 all the time. He pounds his wheels and I pound mine. This failed on being extreme very early. I am going to wait till the new batches fix these issues. Not gambling with begode anymore. That is my opinion. :)

@updlate4756 Жыл бұрын
@@matthewearl9824 Some people are claiming that Chooch was running a 90% PWM alarm, which is super risky. Rideone's basically confirming in this video that the alarms are coming in late even at 85%. That could be an issue in the Begode firmware, or it could just be the situation of having only a 2400 Wh battery with 50E cells on a 16" wheel with a high power motor. At high sustained speeds, the motor will need to spin faster and demand more energy than a larger diameter wheel, and the battery will experience more voltage sag. Maybe that just means Extreme riders need to be setting that PWM alarm down to 75%-80% on street, and shouldn't expect this wheel to perform like a master at higher speeds. (Even the master has problems with sag, and that's a 20" wheel) 16" wheels are meant for loads of low end torque and maneuverability, not for sustained high speed street riding. They accelerate like a bat out of a hell, but they can't sustain the high speeds. Chooch said 35 mph, 7.5 miles in, after 15 minutes. Weird how every figure ends in a 5, right? Sounds like he was guestimating. He later said "less than 10 miles". Assuming it was exactly 15 minutes into his ride, then the difference between 7.5 miles and 10 miles is a 30 mph average speed or 40 mph average speed. He's on a rural open road, which can feel slower than you're actually riding, and he just crashed. In that situation, I think most people would naturally underestimate their speed so they can put the blame on the wheel instead of their own error. Altogether... My take is that the road was going uphill slightly, he just passed that truck (you can see him pulling away from the truck in the background), he settled into his lane, then I bet he was dealing with a head or cross wind (it's an open plain with no tree coverage) which lead to him sitting down. Sitting adds a bit of extra torque to the wheel, and then he seemed to be showing off a bit and was still leaning into the acceleration. Eventually the combination of hard riding, uphill + wind, continued acceleration, and battery sag all lead to the wheel cutting out, with minimal alarm because of his PWM settings.

Surprised that given the likely market they are looking to serve that a) they didn’t put a screw on charger cap on the charge socket, and b) they don’t seem to care about QC (critical motor bolts not tightened, Chooch’s cutout suspected to be caused by poor battery connections, stator magnets misalignment, you get the idea…)

That said, would be fantastic if you guys can do a gnarly offroad comparo cos thats what BG has prized the Extreme at. Also maybe BG can watch this review & tweak the fw optimally, like what they did for the ex30 (of which I love).

It’s unfortunate that all wheels don’t come disassembled so that the user can learn to build and service it before they ride it. I’d rather that the workers get paid to inspect quality of components, then we can assemble with confidence. IMHO

@@grb1969I dont disagree. Just saying its optimistic to expect $1/hr workers to care much about ISO9001 as much as we in the West will also care about working for $1/hr. @miniwheelmedia Жыл бұрын
the shock had about 300ISH psi in it, and the tire in the second half of the video could definitely use some air now that i look at it in the edit. Ideally you want around 34-36psi at all times, so you can avoid damage the rim and pinch flats. PSI in the shock varies depending on your weight. The only time i would lower the air pressure is if you wanted some more grip in the trails. Thanks for watching and commenting! 💛

If you don't have a gps or constantly looking at display, you don't know how fast you're going, specially in traffic. You'll probably find Chooch going 48 to 52 mph in that crash at 2 bars, he was going 80 something kilometers an hour. Try that on the others and see how you fare. Adventure limited to 43.5mph and from the plastic looks of it, would have been in 50 pieces in same type crash.

@@miniwheelmedia And chooch wasn't accurate about the speed he was going on his cutout either. Math has the speed 45+ mph and it looks like chooch was leaning into acceleration. I still think this wheel has a lot to offer most riders, just maybe not the highest speed street riders like Seb. The water ingress gasketting is getting under rated on the reviews and Ride One had the stator out and could demonstrate that Begode actually did seem to pay attention to this.

@miniwheelmedia Жыл бұрын
Chooch is a skilled rider, but sometimes (especially on the road with a car behind you), we get into the zone and push ourselves and the wheel too far. You can see here while approaching top speed, it was done gracefully, and Seb heard a single beep and then backed off. To hear a group of beeps so close together means the wheel was being pushed beyond its comfort zone. Riders need to remember that we can't dig into the power band so aggressively at higher speeds until we become familiar with the wheels behavior no matter the brand

I can’t help, but to notice that Begode failed in keeping pace with themselves. When I entered into this space, brands had their proverbial identity. The numbers don’t lie! As a fan of Begode, I felt there was a unwritten agreement. I will accept subpar QC, if you give me balls to the wall performance. Maybe, it’s just me, but this is the first Begode product, where performance seems anemic. This is totally unacceptable, IMO. If this was a King Song, then this would be a superb wheel, but it isn’t, it’s a Begode. If Inmotion delivers with their Adventure, and provides the lustful spirit of the past Begodes, I will be in line. Priceless content, THX

This looks like it's not the best for trails (patton), nor jumps (s22pro), nor highway speed (v13, other begodes). It actually seems to me to be a premium city commuter. At least it looks on the video as if the guys had an easier time bunny hopping in between sidewalk, bike lane and traffic than with any other wheel. It's lighter than the mini bull and the pathon, right? It has better water resistence than most begodes (in case it rains) and more torque in the low end than the minibull (for overtaking in slow traffic).

LOL the last dealer I got a ride from (S22) said they do full checkout yodda yodda they opened the box just enough to cram a hat in; they checked NOTHING. Thank goodness for the internet and people who put things on you tube.

Great riders, techs and reviews but not seeing helmets and other safety gear at all times is worrisome. Well done! 6 pac Gord

I rarely do over 45 kph on my v12HT and 60kph on my Master 50E. Just feels fast enough and I don't care to have a high speed cutout..lolo

WISE! Lol... we are pushing the limits here and try to do it safely. Seb is a great rider that has great feel for these machines. Stay safe and have FUN! Thats the most important part 💛

THIS WHEEL CUTOUT ON CHOOCH FROM EXTREME BATTERY SAG -this is a dangerous trend.
@miniwheelmedia Жыл бұрын
We agree with this power hungry motor that there arent enough batteries in this machine
@curtflirt2 Жыл бұрын
Apparently this wheel isn't meant to be a speed wheel as you and Chooch himself found out before that really bad crash he just had. This wheel is advertised as an extreme wheel but it's really not it seems. Tell everyone buying this to Be careful with this wheel it doesn't seem to be built as advertised too well.

I think the speed portion of this wheel is well known now, and we will advise whoever buys it to stay below 70, and that its intended use is for trails. Thank you so much for watching and for commenting... means a lot 💛
