Congratulations on your 300k+ subscribers! That is no small feat for an RC plane channel. Your success is due to your humility, your no nonsense, honest approach and your relatability. Everyone appreciates the absence of annoying music and 77 cuts per minute editing. Other channels need to get a clue, no one wants to hear generic stock music at 3x the volume of the plane. Finally, the real key to your success is that rock of a wife, and your faith. I wish my wife was even remotely interested in my RC problem. Keep up the stellar work, please!

This is the next plane on my list. I have been using my Timber X for my 3D playing, and its showing the abuse. I like to stay in the 4s 2200 ecosystem so I just have to get that one battery. Finally flew my V900! What a fun, fast plane to fly!

The 300 will fly on your 2200-3000 3s batts in a mild manered approach. It will even hover somewhat with the lower power even though this plane is harder to hover than others even on 4s as it’snless stable. It would be cool to fly it on 3s until you stock up on 4s, but you’ll never go back to 3s once ya do. The Timber X will swing either pack just the same.

@@ChainsawFPV If you’re happy on the X for 3d you should bite the bullet and jump on the 300! The 300 is still my #2 for electric 3d flying but between the 300 and the X you’ll be happy “upgrading”! And don’t rule out the *other* choice I tossed in the mix. Low n slow are *it’s* specialty so find what fits you.

Been watching just to find my next plane. Flew helis and planes years ago. Just getting back into it. Still have my helicopter, it's the old school type that takes a ton of skill to fly. Amazing what's available now days. Haven't picked one yet. Just looking for something enjoyable for an experienced pilot (probably a little rusty). Does anyone run nitro anymore, or is that almost non-existent these days?

i have enjoyed watching your videos and enthusiasm but... this E-Flite 3D bird is a mediocre example of 3D planes. it is heavy. it does weird things at the limits . this airframe is only saved by the RX software. many of our top pilots agree. if you really like 3D flying, try something else. FMS MXS 1100mm is a cheap entry level 3D plane and much better airframe even without the awesome spektrum software. twisted hobbies or even hobby king offer cheaper and better 3D machines.

One of my favorite planes. Glides in safe amazingly. If I could only have 1 plane it would be this or the Night Timber. This one is easy and fun to fly with safe and the night timber is fun and I can fly 24/7 so that’s a win. Both are awesome!!! congrats 300000 congrats on the 300.👌

Nope. The QQ extra and Mamba are the go-to planes in my hangar. Eflite doesn’t even compare to Flex Innovations.

@@acemechanical275 Hint: the eflite 300 (seems to actually be a 330…) will turn up a notch if you put a longer elevator horn on the servo and max it out to 45-50°. Spoilerons are a must too. THEN it’s close but but still lacks the low speed 3d finesse of the flex planes. EF High speed maneuvers rock though.

I use mine for F3A style flying. It does amazing 4 point, 8 point, and slow rolls but flight times are 3.5 minutes tops despite very careful throttle management. That's on a 4000mah 4S. It's only very slightly smaller than my Splendor and Olympus which both use 4000mah 6S.

Great video. I only recently found your channel and you and wife sure put out good family oriented content. Can you tell me the difference between the 300 and the 340. I ordered the balsa kit model 330 but it hasn’t arrived yet. I know the foam models are more durable and much quicker to fly practically out of the box BUT as a young guy way back in time I always enjoyed putting balsa-planes together. Thanks

If you enjoy the assembly, I’d go for that because that’s a big part of the process! However, I tend to lean heavily toward flying and ease of repair, so I go with BNF foam models when I can. The plane is out of the box and in the air usually faster than I can charge the batteries (under 1 hour) and that is super appealing to a guy like me with a wife, two kids, tons of other responsibilities, filming, editing, lol… the list goes on! So I like to soak up as much flight time as I can when given the opportunity. Hope this helps! Question for you - I’m just getting back into the hobby after several years off and I just bought this plane as my first plane back. I plan on flying exclusively was SAFE on for a while..likely a long, long while as I get my feet back under me. This plane was listed as a “level two” plane, so do you think it could be used as a sort of trainer plus? I just didn’t want to buy a cub or apprentice or something like that and then get quickly tired of it and I have to spend another $350 on a plane. I wanted something that would grow with me. Am I being pennywise and pound foolish? Or is this plane a sound investment? Side note, I’ve been training a lot on RealFlight with it, so I don’t know how much that helps…

For what it's worth, in my opinion, this seems like a really great airplane, priced well. You're not gunna really learn anything flying around in safe mode, cuz you're not really flying the airplane. Is this the right plane for you? Idk, but I kinda doubt it. I think you would have enjoyed a Timber more. They're naturally more forgiving and they never get old. I am a 3d RC Heli flier and 3D RC plane flier and I saw plenty of 3D moves....... perhaps open your eyes and you will also see them by intentionally placing the model in the stalled position and producing 3D maneuvers from the stall.... great way to see your path ahead clearly is to walk it with the Lord and he will help you see all things in 3D Bless you all ...Amen

Heads up - I purchased this plan 2 months ago hoping it would be an excellent 3D flyer. Well, it's not :/ Knife edge, hovering, harriers are near impossible on this plane. This Extra 300 is just too heavy to be a truly 3D capable plane. Learn from my mistake :)

There should be no reason to have safe on a plane like this if you can’t take off or land without that crutch then why fly a plane like this it teaches bad habits then your never learn without it

Also I would try something like a multiplex extra or acromaster pro or one of the pilot RC models they offer the best for 3D or others like sebart,skywing. They won’t come with electronics but at least you could put some decent electronics in them and not cheap out like Eflite do

I dunno. It may not be as mass appealing as some, but there are some who can benefit from this. Even if it’s just a quick stepping stone! Imagine using SAFE on your maiden, just to help build confidence. Also, it’s already built into the RX, so why not!? 👍😁 To each their own though, and it’s always nice to hear opinions that aren’t my own. Happy Flying 😎⚓️

@@TheRcSaylors there is to many videos, since you have flown that many planes(3d) and you find Eflite Extra 300 to be best i wanna compare them to other 3d planes. With +500k subscribers i think you are reliable source. I dont want to buy something thats not good. Thanks for your help!

@@suprim-21 ok. Elfite 300 foam...RTF $350 usd. Extreme Flight or AJ 48” Edge or whatever 550 USD RTF. Kind of a no brainer really. I know of people who paid $650 USD for that Eflite Draco piece of crap but complain about 550 for a quality built airplane with quality servos, motor, esc etc etc.

That seems like a really nice airplane that I would enjoy a lot. Being a Horizon Hobbies product, it's quite surprising that's it actually seems priced reasonably. Good job Eflite!
