Very very true! Amongst most watch enthusiasts the F-91W is a classic time piece that just about all watch collectors have in their collection. Myself being in the maritime industry I work in some of the most harshest environments that can test any gear. I see that exact Casio and similar ones like it for just a few dollars more on the wrist of most of my brothers of the sea out here.

@No you I think it's important to note that not everyone is a watch enthusiast. I actually thought it was refreshing that he didn't immediately search an "F91W", however he did recognize a generic digital Casio. Most people that buy a watch for practical time keeping purposes (not collecting or as a hobby) are going to be searching Amazon in much the same way. It's actually telling that he instinctively chose a venerable F91W over a garbage fashion watch (digital or not).

No judgment if you reuse the same wallet, keychain, and/or watch. It would be hard to do much better than the Casio without veering into $30 Timex Weekender territory. I suspect knives and flashlights drive most of your views anyway. What? I'm not projecting - YOU'RE projecting! 😂

The Casio F-91W is legendary, it's functional quality is commonly overlooked. Many videos to back that up. I have one as my EDC for years but the wristband was too small so I swappped it for another.

for literally a few dollars more, you can get a metal version of the f91w (well the band is metal, and the case is painted silver) or an all black, casio "royale" (cant remember the model number) but it runs about $15, is larger on the wrist, has world time, and that cool bond look, james bond. I have recently stumbled upon your budget EDC videos. I consider myself somewhat of a budget edc aficionado, I pride myself on my own budget minded carry setups and just think there's nothing better than good, usable carry tools that get the job done and are always there for you. There's just something so satisfying about having what you need when you need it. Can't wait for more content.

I love this kind of video, thanks! I sort of disagree that a flashlight is necessary for everyone's EDC. I rarely have a need for a light, and when I do, my smartphone's flashlight function is more than enough. I'd argue that for this kind of person, a pair of earbuds/IEMs might be more useful. For around the same price as your light, you could pick up a pair of VE Monk Plus (seriously the best earbuds I've ever used,) or Panasonic ErgoFits. Also, if someone only has lighter uses for a knife, one of those cheap utility knives might work. I recently picked up a Slidewinder on your recommendation, and I'm loving it so far.

I'm so glad you made this video. It was starting to feel like your channel was going to be primarily high end gear. Just switch that blade. Keep up the strong work!

Knife is up graded to a Buck Bantum. Flashlight remains the same Coast G10.

Awesome video concept, awesome execution. Great idea! Best Damn; Best Damn EDC video (yet) Great choice of Zebra pen/pencil sets. I currently carry the item below, but have kept Zebra F-701's in every carry bag I own since they first hit the market. At $7 each, they're expensive now. Your slimline wallet is what few of us have, so great suggestion for the terminally fat-pocket EDC. PS: You missed a few good items; Mini Perman XPE-R3 LED Flashlight @ $2.07 Yes, they get hot, but they're durable, have a good clip, and 1200 Lumens really lights your way. They're probably worth $6 each, but at the $2 range I get them in 5-packs. For pens, believe it or not, but the JASSINS Tactical Pen is also $2.20 Punch those in, and you have more for a slightly better watch. S-Shock Analog Digital hybrids run around $15. The Casio was good; I wore the same one you bought, before they became 'classic' (35 years ago), through Basic Training in the military. Survived push-ups in the mud (over 300, every, darned, day), but G-Shock and their sister knock-offs are a hundred times better. My 2-Cents: Odds are the guy who watches these videos already have dozens of knives. Your suggestion is good, but I'll stick with BudK, which is a mix of good quality and low prices (BOGO is the fried of every EDC). If you use the wish-list system there (or on Amazon too) your favorites will update you when there are sales.

The f301 pens are awesome. If you work in healthcare or at a place where others use your own pen I would reccomend getting some of them. They are cheap and wont matter if you lose them. I used them for over 2 years till I got my tactile turn.

With every day pens, you definitely want to go something sturdy that's going to hold up, write on everything, and/or easily replaceable. If you want something long lasting, and capable of writing on anything, I would recommend a fountain pen with india ink. If you maintain it, and use it for everything, you won't have a clogging issue. My personal favorite EDC are Muji Gel pens. They don't skip, they're cheap, and they're very reliable. They're also thin enough to fit into normal pen loops. My partner who is left handed likes them. He also really likes Uniball Signos and Energels because they dry quick enough and don't skip when his hand is smearing the page. They're also comforable.

I find the acronym of WHIPKIT fascinating. From my minimalist perspective there's a few things that become redundant when talking about my average day. My phone tells the date and time just fine, so that takes care of horology. My phone has a flashlight function, so in a pinch that takes care of illumination. My phone can also take pictures, record audio/video and I can type out notes, so no need for an instrument of lighting. Lastly are tools - I have tools at work, I have tools at home, and I keep a multi-tool among a number of other items in my car, so I don't feel much need to carry a tool on my person. This brings me down to just Wallet, Keys and Phone.

Once upon a time I was looking for a good ballpoint pen for outdoor writing.... Yes, and I admit, I did go for those rather expensive space pens, and rite-in-the-rain pens. But that was a mistake. They are mostly very pricey, and I found them less comfortable to write with. But, the biggest minus was that most of them came with metallic cover. That is not a good idea, when you have to keep on writing in harsh wintery conditions, when first your papers have soaked, then frozen, and you just keep on wiping the super-cooled rain/sleek/snow off the paper to be able to reach the surface with your pen. I'll also be writing with my bare hands, or at least fingers, because the gloves, mittens would also be wet in those conditions, and destroy the paper - and it would be impossible to do such miniature writing work with any mittens or gloves, that we are required to do at work. - Finally, I found a solution! "Uni-Ball Ballpoint Power Tank Eco Blue 1.0" - Very easy to write with, pressurized tank, writes (proven) on ice, watery surfaces, in any position, etc., the price is very affordable, and the eco part comes as a bonus (they put some saw dust into the rubbery resin, that makes a very comfortable handle for writing). Yes, it is mostly of plastic - but those metallic ones will break as well if I happen to drop them, and some truck or pull-master drives over them. These are just much cheaper to replace. I highly recommend.
