I used to be a regular (sort of) back in the 1970's. Still open. Amazing! The place had to be the most decadent restaurant in SF. Beef like you coouldn't believe!

This is actually quite a good deal for $50 as it comes with salad and a side dish. At The Prime Rib Restaurant in Washington, D.C., every thing is a la carte and the standard cut starts at $49, salad $14, and sides range from $10 to $15.

NOTE: AVERAGE DINNER TAB FOR 2: BETWEEN $110.00 & $200.00 DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU ORDER/DESSERT & COCKTAILS. WORTH EVERY PENNY AS THIS IS THE BEST SF RESTAURANT TO DINE ON GREAT PRIME RIB. JUST AN OPINION, BUT TRY TO AVOID THE VALET PARKING, TOO PRICEY IN MY VIEW. JUST TRY FOR STREET PARKING OR WHATEVER IS AVAILABLE IN THAT AREA. EAT & ENJOY! SAVE YOUR $$.

I’m a native San Franciscan. I have fond memories of going to the house of prime rib on special occasions. I’m retired now. Last January I was hired part time by the owner as one of the receptionists who take reservations. But I only worked there for a few months when Covid shut it down. I’m still an employee and will be coming back to work when the all clear is given for them to reopen. In the meantime I’ve been collecting unemployment benefits in addition to my Social Security. I look forward to going back.

Party of 4 drove 60 miles from North Bay, Sonoma County. King Henry Cut was about 12ozs with bone, 7ozs on prime rib. 3 had House of Prime Rib Cut which where about 8ozs I got 2 extra cuts, first was like a crape very thin, second was offer by Maitre d' which was about 3 ozs. It wasn't all I though it would be. Won't dine there again.

Total “knock off” of the original Lowery’s the Prime Rib, in Southern California. Total imitation, right down to the “spinning salad bowl” and the “stainless steel serving carts” where the meat is carved table side, and exactly the same side dishes are added to warm dinner plates. Same “big bill” too.

Fresh out of the ovens, usually two or three roasts of varying degrees of doneness, sliced and served tableside immediately upon entree service at your table. Couldn't be more efficient or perfectly temped. How did you discern otherwise?!? Did you figure they just ran around the dining room with lukewarm leftovers in a hopper to great acclaim?
