Two people who cared so deeply for each other, tearing themselves apart while trying to mend old wounds that would never heal. Quietly devastating.

if you dont understand how marvelous casey is in this scene then you are lucky to not feel that pain he plays..

Someone please give Michelle Williams an Oscars. (actually she was nominated three times for playing a heartbroken wife...)

This is great acting. It may not be long, emotional dialogue as one might expect, but the material is there. They hold back because they don't wanna break down and lose it completely. Every single actor in this movie gives a great performance, and Casey carries them beautifully, IMO.

I disagree with all those in favor of Michelle Williams being better than Casey, cause it is extremely difficult to demonstrate your pain with just a few words and convey what your feeling with just your actions. Michelle is crying and outpouring her emotions, while casey trying to contain his emotions just like in real life yet his pain can be felt much deeper than Michelle's character.

Thank you. It's incredibly hard in real life to be in that moment. And he protrayed it beautifully

Totally agree. Casey is a Legend in this.

Let me tell you a story about Triage. You look to the quiet ones, too gravely wounded to make the loud noises you so commonly associate with pain. Casey took this one.

Why does there have to be a winner? They shared this scene. Neither could do what they did without the other. This is an amazing scene, they were amazing together. They both win.

She is amazing and the dialogue is so realistic. I always cry with this scene

It’s crazy how she nailed what it sounds like when you’re sobbing and trying to speak at the same time

Some people just get broken and never get beyond it. This scene is art imitating life .

Every time I watched this scene, I felt so touched. These two characters in the movie were both broken deeply but they still need to struggle to move on and pretend they are strong. Recommend this movie as always.

I'll keep it brief. She's better than he .. but the reason this is proper good (you know like real life, when you hate your girl, but love her at the same time) is there's no seperation. The actors are not acting, they are feeling. It hurts, because it hurts to write, to act, durintg editing, it hurts to get an engagement with the performer and the audience. Cheers.

I thought of this as Michelle's best acting scene. Casey didn't really have a "best" scene (as far as I remember), but his acting as a broken man was very solid throughout
@Jayson_Guy7 жыл бұрын
I think Casey's best scene is at the police station, particularly when he grabs an officer's gun and tried to shoot himself saying "Please" as to let him end his pain and anguish.

Great scene in a not-great movie. Michelle Williams is stellar, as she was in All the Money In the World.

To put it simply and plainly to get to your fucking head, it may be your opinion but your wrong. Casey won every award that year against giants like Denzel, Tom Hanks and Jeff bridges for such a small movie. So sod off you pick.
@Izaan28103 жыл бұрын
Well dumbass, that was the point!! There's a thing called subtlety. Affleck nailed it in the subtlety criteria and was fantastic. A broken man is BROKE!! Casey's face alone said million things without saying million things.
