I'm getting my second one ->I've had a gold Tegu tamed after yrs of being aggressive and he was puppy dog tame never bit me ever since, had Asian water monitors as well but I enjoyed the nile way more 😂❤

I own my first and am having trouble, he stays violent. How long does this phase tend to last?

Hey as long as you handle often and really take he him out overtime they start to calm down also try not to feed as much live food ( what really worked for me is handling in bathtub with little running water and he should be able to climb on you ) grizz started to calm down around 18in got him around 6-7 , so around a year for me

What is the brand of that trim? Do you have a link of something? Also, how often should a 10 months to 1 year monitor should eat to "not be aggressive"?

www.walmart.com/ip/Oster-Gentle-Paws-Nail-Grinder/17636750 Any type of nail grinder should work and they should eat around 3-4 times a week I feed mines 2-3 times a week due to amounts , so as long as you feed moderate amounts then around 3-4 times week , but try to stick to a feeding schedule 👍 hopefully this helped

Do you still have that 2nd monitor? Grizz is looking good. Keep sharing pls I had a rabbit bite the back of my hand. No pain until I lifted the rabbit off the ground and everything clicked in my head. I’m saying if the rabbit bites it could just latch on(for grizz to then eat). Most of the time rabbits kick as they bite and then run.

The baby’s Nile monitor I had was just temporary I was just taming it up to find it a good home but yeah I had my bunny for a long time and Grizz so I keep caution still 👍
