Hey as long as you handle often and really take he him out overtime they start to calm down also try not to feed as much live food ( what really worked for me is handling in bathtub with little running water and he should be able to climb on you ) grizz started to calm down around 18in got him around 6-7 , so around a year for me

A friend of mine had a nile monitor. Easily, it was over 5' and mean as hell! He used to feed it trout from his pond and ground burger. There's no way you could let it out of the cage, though. It was lightning quick and downright, vicious. He ended up giving it to a local zoo.

It’s a nile because of its tongue and overall body dynamics and still have that wild nature sometime I just know how to handle at the right time tbh , but you never know I’m still learning too

If I get a nile monitor can I use a bed room as it's permanent enclosure when it grows its full size so I don't have to buy or build a custom made enclosure?
@itsbaileypets

That’s plenty of size especially if it’s a typical bedroom size . I would make sure it has enough water , heat and UVB and also keep in mind the mess they make

It’s only expensive if you feed them every day. Only feed them at a maximum twice a week when they’re bigger. It causes issues when you feed them daily!

Agree feed Grizz like 2-3x now prices are high , so it can still be around 10-20 week depending on what you get if you buy in bulk at Asian market it’s little cheaper

My best advice if you want to keep the shed is to just gentle wipe it not too much , keep it dry away from sun and store it in jar or dry place . They have persevere solution on Amazon you can get to help it last , but personally I don’t think it’s worth it going through that my h work because you can easily get some lizard shed , but that’s about all I know . 👍
