I'm normally an affordable makeup & skincare gal, but I got a sample size of Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream at Sephora for my points, & wowza! I love it! It really is beautiful under makeup. I use only a little. I really haven't bought into the hype of CT, but that cream is 🥰! Otherwise, I really have enjoyed the L'Oreal Age Perfect foundation & Maybelline Sky High Mascara. 👍

Wayne Goss foundation. Love it. The most I've spent on a foundation in many years, but it's Wayne! Coverage is great and a teeny tiny bit goes a LONG way with great coverage that looks like skin.

Love all the recommendations, Laura! Just want to throw it out there that Wet N Wild has a new pressed powder that is absolutely incredible, and only about $3!! It's the bare focus clarifying powder, it's available in several shades as well as translucent, and is BEAUTIFUL on mature skin! ❤️

Another fav I discovered this year is the Covergirl Clean Fresh pressed powder. No talc, works well on my 61 year old skin. I like pressed over loose as less kick up and breathing it in.

Wonderful video, loved your choices . One of my favorite products is the Undone Beauty water bronzer I have the shade baked. It’s a small product but a little goes a long way, I love that it doesn’t have shimmer. The look on the skin is so beautiful, not to mention it also looks great on the lips.

Hi Laura a few favourites from this year are: the Kiko shadow sticks - just as good as the LM version, but so much more affordable. They have a really good shade range also. the Kiko water shadows - I hit pan on the shade light taupe, so that shows how much I have used it this year. It is more of a satin/subtle shimmer and looks so beautiful on more mature lids. the DS watercolour blushes are long term favourites, but my favourite this year is the Flower blush bomb in the shades cheeky (a mauve) and bubbly (cool pink). These are colours that are more difficult to find in liquid/cream blush and really suit my cooler skin tone. the Benefit gimme brow in shade one is my absolute favourite. A tube lasts me well over 6 months, but it's the shade that's the star. I'm super pale and most blonde shades are too yellow and taupes are too dark. The shade one is my perfect shade and that is worth the extra spend for me. Mac F&B was my favourite complexion product this year - it looks really good on my dry skin Revlon eyeliners stay on my tightline and are much more affordable than some others that last there. My favourite mascara is the DHC tubing mascara - tiny thin wand that is really easy to use and more affordable than most tubing mascaras. Best wishes.

I'm sold on City Lips clear or the shimmers. I don't recall you talking about them. Would love you to try if you haven't yet. Easy to apply for bedtime. Cushiony comfort that lasts awhile during the day. Most all other lip products bother or dry out my lips. These are a lifesaver for me. Pricey but I get them when they go on sale.

Hey Laura Rae! Love this type of focused video! One question, though: You say you prefer a matte bronzer, instead of a sparkly one. I've always thought a matte bronzer is just a contour. I'm confused -? How do you define a bronzer?

Not Laura, but I'm a MUA, and I can tell you that there are 2 major differences in contour and bronzer - tone and placement. Contour colors are cool toned (think shadow) and are intended to mimic the shadows on your face and placed in areas that you want to "push back" in space (hollows of the cheeks, hairline on forehead, double chin area of jawline, etc). Bronzers can be matte or shimmer, but are much warmer toned to imitate suntan or the "sun-kissed" look, and are placed where the sun naturally tans your face (cheekbones, forehead, across the bridge of the nose, etc.)

I just got the Flower Beauty Setting spray about 3 weeks ago… I would say the lasting element is equal to NYX - BUT the great thing is it has a FINE mist, doesn’t clog, AND smells better than the NYX by far.

I've been very concerned about mascara. I'm 63 and this year had cataract surgery. It was successful but I still have vision issues. So that tubing mascara is out for me. My go to drug store has always been Loreal voluminous black curved wand. Benefit curved mascara wand etc. Lancome Hypnose as well.

I love all the foundations you mentioned! I love and think you'd like Glossier's Cloud Paint blushes. They're $18, but you just need a drop on each cheek like the Daniel Sandler. It has lasts a loong time. I love the shade "storm". I love the new L'Oreal liner, too and have been trying it out in lieu of my other favorite, Physician's Formula Ultra Fine Precise Eyeliner in dark brown. Catrice just came out with a new eye liner called the 20 Hour Ultra Precision Gel Eye Liner. They have it in like, 6 shades for just $5!!! It is great! Try it! I just love the shade Berry Plum. It looks great with the pink/plum eye shadow.

sorry- how do you mix foundation with setting spray? just spray it on a dollop and stir it with something? I havent heard people share about a brand I use almost every day - danessa myrick. I use her essential creams palette for an easy one and done eye and cheek. Its long lasting and very nice on my skin.

I love Danessa Myrick makeup. I have a couple of shades and they are so long lasting. I put my foundation on a glass palette or the back of my hand and mix a couple of pumps of setting spray with the foundation.❤️
