Im doing a charcoal portrait but my ref image isn't that great. The lighting is a little flat. Could AI be used to take a photo of a face and say "using this face add Rembrandt style lighting"? Would the AI need more than one photo of the same face to be more accurate? Since the fall of light delineates the various planes of the face and thus makes a face recognisable Im not sure AI will work unless it can compare a few photos of the same face but in different orientations and lighting.

this is a bit difficult to answer here, but I suggest trying out MockoFun, especially the AI edit option for photos. You have ai filters, guided transform and Image to Image tools that would maybe work in your case, but you'll have to experiment. Start with image to image and in the instructions go with something like "charcoal drawing, rembrandt lighting" with 0.35-0.5 strength
