People mentioned a lot of good recipies because they are more efficient. But my favorite is wet concrete. Not because it's super-good at producing, but because it uses a LOT of water, therefore it's THE BEST to remove clogging water from production lines like aluminium. Just turn all this annoying water into concrete bags and sink them! Other alternatives are sinking water canisters (which requires tons of empty canisters) or rerouting that water into essential production (which tends to cause problems).

For steamed copper sheet, you forget to mention it's best reason... To save on copper usage. (at the cost of needing big footprints for copper sheets). Copper Alloy Ingot is also a very nice one to double copper ingots from copper ore (at the cost of iron ore which is abundant). And it can do this without access to water and in a very small number of fountries. Sure Pure Copper Ingots gets you even more copper ingots from ore, but you need 52 refineries to process an overclocked pure node. Fused Quickwire is also a must have. Caterium is rare, so making more quickwire from limited resources by adding copper is a really nice recipe to have. For aluminium production: Electrode aluminium Scrap (because coal is easier and more abundant than petroleum coke) and it pairs better with the alumina solution production.
@TotalXclipse4 жыл бұрын

All of these are amazing, i would only add Wet Concrete same thing as pure iron basically, Coke Steel Ingot, as a nice way to deal with by products early and to get more steel, , which is amazing if you get it near when you are setting up your first oil., and lastly Fused Quickwire since the nodes are so limited and there are so many more uses for caterium now.

Just an fyi for anyone watching, you can reroll your hard drive options if you dont like what you got. First, disable auto save so you can manually save (please remember to manually save lol). Next, save your game BEFORE you start scanning the hard drive. After 10min you don't like the options the scan gave you, load up your save from 10min ago and do it again. Rinse and repeat. I did this to get recycled rubber/plastic, diluted packaged fuel, heavy oil residue, and polymer resin so I could try out the 300 oil to 900 rubber or plastic per minute factory Kibz did a vid on. Not the best designed, or the most efficient, but one that works. Oil is kind of a bump in the road because it's kind of fiddly to getting the desired results, especially with fluid physics being what it is. With all that said, a distributed approach to factory design means one can tailor a factory to a site (availability), add capacity easily (lots of space), as well as play what-if easier (no need to tear anything down), at the cost of more complexity overall , and loss of some efficiency (transportation costs).

10:50 The pure recipes use *way* more power than normal smelting. The math is a bit tricky because of more purity, but in terms of ingots-per-MW I'm pretty sure it's more efficient to overclock your miners all the way to 250% than to use refineries. That's not even considering the extra space they use or the complication of getting water. In short, I don't think the pure recipes are very good at all. If you've mined out the whole map and still need more, then sure, but until that point I don't think they're worth using.
@TotalXclipse4 жыл бұрын
Yep you raise a good point, I only think they're useful if you're trying to maximise production across all nodes, so ideally you would have overclocked all your miners prior so that you're producing the most ore and from there you would use pure nodes otherwise, like you said it's just not worth it

Concerning the alternatives for screws... Early on the alternate recipe to skip the step with iron rods makes a lot of sense. But long term... It depends on what you're going for, personally, i find it easier to produce the simpler stuff (rods, plates, reinforced plates, etc) near the ore node and then transport those items to the where the assemblers/manufacturers are going to be. It saves a lot of space over belting/trucking all the raw ore and smelting it on site. So for example, for heavy modular frames in my mega factory, I make the modular frames, encased beams, and concrete in their own areas and transport them to the manufacturer that makes the heavy frames i hope this makes sense You could always join the satisfactory discord too, they are always really helpful when I have questions like this.

You get around double the effective power using the diluted to turbo combination. And as a bonus, you a little bit of resin which you can use/sink for something else.
@BabakFiFoo4 жыл бұрын
@@lingwisyer88 oh. I need to calculate that. I thought since it uses 3 refineries it may not have the same efficiency.
@lingwisyer884 жыл бұрын
Effective power, so node efficiency not power efficiency. Sorry, slight tangent
@BabakFiFoo4 жыл бұрын
@@lingwisyer88 No worries, we all make mistakes ;). I made some calculations. Net energy using diluted fuel is negative. meaning the process of producing turbo fuel for energy is consuming more energy than what it produces. This is mainly due to the use of water, packaging it, and production of fuel which takes water pump and plenty of refineries. at the same time, the conversion of fuel to the turbo fuel is not energy efficient as well.

Mouse lag? is that to do with FPS or just the mouse? I covered better frame rates a while back although it's a little out dated. I'm not sure what to do with mouse lag though

There should be more hard drives available than alternative recipes. Its not that hard to find them all if you use this map: satisfactory-calculator.com/en/interactive-map
@capthavic4 жыл бұрын
There are more drives than recipes so you can definitely get them all eventually. Of course when just starting out getting some of those recipes mentioned sooner rather than later can make your life that much easier.

"Can increase productivity" They are literally ALL more efficient than their counterparts. Literally every single one is either 33% or 50% better.

Efficiency is less important to me than ease of use....
@MoDlegion4 жыл бұрын
This is simply not true (nor accurate), just check: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TqO6DwlKZibUia8USbbV_UD63LSS1yE9hBU_d64f0X0/edit#gid=1234485472. I guess it depends on how you define efficient though. Most are more *productive*, but some some aren't, but those then to be more efficient in another area (like using a more common resource, or less power/space). And the ones that more productive, tend to be less efficient in power/space use.
@michalsimanek69884 жыл бұрын
some need oil which greatly increases complexity of your setup. For example there is an iron plate recipe that uses iron ingots and rubber. Idk about you, but oil is MUCH better used for other stuff than easing your consumption of iron. Also crude oil is extremely rare when compared to iron ore. But i suppose you are right with the efficiency, that recipe will not use as much iron when compared to the original AND this alternate is an anomaly as other alternates are a direct upgrade to the regular recipes
@TotalXclipse4 жыл бұрын
Yes, and no, out of the 69 recipes, 65 can relate to productivity. of the those 65 if we consider their weighted productivity (considering the rarity of the resources required) then 17 of those recipes are equal to or less productive than the original, then a further 16 are less than 30% more productive, but I could have been more specific as to how much more productive they are.

Cloth needs more uses... Fiberglass cloth can be used in MANY items, in reality. For cement strength and to make it light. (Should be the alternative instead of using silica.) Circuit-boards, same issue as just stated. It is mixed into plastic to make high-temp and super-rigid plastics for many industrial uses. Machines and conveyors should be using fiberglass, as that is the primary component in "belts" and an alternative to using metal for bodies and beams. There is so much oddness in these recipes that turns real science and physics on its head, after spinning it around 10,000 times and trying to get it to line-up with reality. They need to listen to people who have actual knowledge of production and science and logic and reality, when making this GAME, which defies all basic knowledge that most high-schoolers know, before entering high-school. What was once a beautiful game, is slowly becoming a cluster-F of horrible LODs and pop-ins and details that don't show until you kiss the items. Formulas seem like they are taken from minecraft, more and more, and less like they came from a science-room. Interactions are getting so construed that easy things are now a three click process, some are four and five and six... (Moving things that should be in basic items, into some special "customizer" page. Which is not easy to get into, or out of, or intuitive to locate.) By the time it's an actual game (V1.0), everyone who once enjoyed it, will be sick of it and those who never heard of it, will only hear how messed-up it actually is, and how much it lacks actual content. (Oh there is a lot to do, just to do it... But, to what end? Saving a few MWh or having to only make 3,000 machines, instead of 4,500, just to get faster machines at the end, to make THINGS YOU DON'T NEED, faster... Why?)

Unsatisfactory. Using steel for basic iron parts is very unsatisfactory. Mid game, coal will be in high demand between coal plants and steel items, you shouldn't waste any coal on iron parts. Iron is the most plentiful node, don't waste coal on iron parts thanks!

I don't use massive factories so rarely use all the coal - if you're looking at the resource rarity vs resources produced, I think it works out better.
