Britec09 what's not to trust about cleaner?
@JTBivens7 жыл бұрын
He is referring to how a while back many lost trust because the company that owns it (Piriform) was hacked. They slipped a bit of Malware into CCleaner. They fixed it very quickly. But many lost trust in it. It is a great tool. though. And as I said they fixed the issue. Cheers.

That is correct, I still use CCleaner.

Hi Brian, In Windows 10 . Tap on the Windows-key, enter Disk Cleanup in Cortana and select the result from the list that is displayed. Click ok on the first screen and wait for the scan to complete,tick selections. Click on clean up system files once the window is displayed on the screen.
@Schnitzer325ci7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brian. Personally I stick to CC. Yes after 15 years they had a minor issue. But nothing to lose your mind over. I personally suggest you run disk cleanup elevated as admin. After a reboot then run CC for reg clean. If you run CC reg clean you may end up with problems as some of the files are still pending install and need to be orphaned first. Anywho.. that's my two pence.. Thanks again 👍🏾

is there really a point running reg clean in todays fast systems?It meant something back in the day but in windows 10 and multicore systems and ssds..i dunno .
@detmer877 жыл бұрын
dimitrismaster It's NEVER recommended to use a regcleaner. Microsoft has been very clear about this matter. You only risking abnomalities and potential problems when using a reg cleaner. No speed gain or such, that's total marketing BS, atleast for Windows 10

Thanks Brian :-D Ive never needed to schedule anything, so i havnt used it eather lol. I do it manually, i do use a bucket of programs and i have never had a problem with ccleaner. Although i did stick to the older version because i liked the interface better. "Never change for the sake of change."

Nice video as always, good info. I switched from CCleaner to JetClean from BlueSpriga few years ago. However, I find this to be a useful system administrator way of automating some simple clean up on users machines. Now to go find and export the registry key so it can be added to all the local machines, and set it to run in scheduler at user log on. But I'll keep using JetClean for registry clean up.
@red94mr285 жыл бұрын
I'm looking for a registry cleaner so visited JetClean. Saw that JetClean hasn't been updated since 2012 and the last update to the website was 2013. It's also doesn't support Windows 10 although it may run on it.

I just got my new gaming rig about a month ago and downloaded ccleaner. i had no problems until about the first couple of weeks when suddenly my windows 10 started getting corrupted files and wouldnt download any updates. I uninstalled my anti virus just to make sure it wasnt that and my windows corruption problem got so bad I had to do a fresh install of windows. I dont know if Ccleaner was the culprit but it seemed to start about a week after I downloaded it. I know the malware scare was about 6 months ago...is ccleaner safe to use now in 2018??

In September 2017, CCleaner v5.33 (32-bit Windows) was compromised with the Floxif trojan that could install a backdoor enabling remote access of 2.27 million infected machines. Of these 2.27 million PCs, 40 received a second-stage payload that appears to have targeted technology companies such as Samsung, Intel and VMWare. On 13 September Piriform released CCleaner 5.34 and CCleaner Cloud 1.07.3191 that do not contain the malicious code.

@MaskedGEEK7 жыл бұрын
That’s why I put the “lol” at the end. But yeah this command WILL format your Windows installations drive, even if you have Windows installed elsewhere it’ll remove the MBR needed to point your PC to where your OS is stored, so unless you have a genuine reason to format your drive ( which is easier in a reinstallation of an OS compared to using this command anyway), it is strongly suggested NOT to use this command.
